From the moment we enrolled our son at Stepping Stone, Elizabeth has been the heart and soul of our experience. She isn’t just a director—she has been a guiding light for our family, a true friend, and someone we’ve come to admire deeply. Her leadership, compassion, and dedication make this school feel less like a school and more like a second home. Our son started here as an infant, and through every milestone, Elizabeth has been there—supporting, encouraging, and creating an environment where children not only learn but thrive. The independence and confidence our son has today are a direct reflection of her commitment to excellence. We can honestly say that the reason we love this school so much is Elizabeth. She runs it with a level of care and attention as if it were her own, and it shows in every detail. We only wish the program went all the way through high school, because it’s rare to find someone who pours so much of herself into the well-being of both the kids and their families. Elizabeth is a blessing, and sending our child here has truly been one of the best investments we’ve ever made. If you are looking for a place where your child will be cared for, challenged, and nurtured under the guidance of an extraordinary director, you won’t regret choosing Stepping Stone.

My son has been at Stepping Stone Montessori for over 3 years, and enrolling him here has truly been the best decision I’ve made. I love everything he has learned and continue to be amazed by the patience, love, and dedication the teachers show every single day. I live 40 minutes away, but I don’t mind driving that distance because I know the value this school provides. I especially want to highlight Miss Elizabeth—she is such a loving and dedicated person with a huge heart. She is always making sure everything is perfect, greeting everyone with a smile and a wonderful attitude. Without a doubt, I recommend this school 100%. I only wish the owner would consider expanding the school and bringing back the elementary program so my son could continue his education here without having to transfer soon.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Stepping Stone Montessori School in Sugar Hill. This is my son’s second year here, and he absolutely loves it. I’ve seen such great progress in him academically, but more importantly, he’s excited to go to school every day. When we were searching for a Montessori school last year, we toured five different places. Stepping Stone immediately stood out as the one where I truly felt my son would be safe, cared for, and in good hands. That feeling has proven to be right. The principal, Ms. Elisabeth, has been wonderful from the very beginning—always supportive, ready to listen, and genuinely passionate about both the children and the Montessori philosophy. The teachers are also amazing, and the fact that they all hold real Montessori certifications makes a world of difference in the quality of education and care they provide. Overall, we are very grateful for the nurturing and supportive environment this school has created. It’s given my son the space to grow, learn, and thrive, and as parents, that peace of mind is priceless. Highly recommend!

I do not recommend Stepping Stone Montessori School to any parent who is looking for a safe, respectful, and stable environment for their child. While some of the teachers are truly wonderful, caring, and dedicated, the biggest problem here is the administration. The owner himself is not so bad, but unfortunately he is not open to listening to parents. He chooses to believe and follow everything the director says, even when it is misleading. The director has shown herself to be dishonest and, in my personal experience, one of the rudest people I have ever met. On several occasions, she spoke to me in an extremely disrespectful and unprofessional manner, and I have also witnessed her speaking in the same way to other staff. It creates a toxic environment that no parent wants for their children. The assistant director, sadly, is not helpful either, she simply repeats the same answer without offering real solutions, which makes it very difficult for parents to resolve even simple issues. When problems are brought to the administration, instead of support or understanding, we are often met with defensiveness or dismissiveness. It feels as if parents’ voices do not matter here. What hurts me the most is how much instability this causes for the children. In just one school year, my daughter was assigned four different teachers. Imagine how confusing and unsettling that is for a young child who needs consistency to feel safe and to learn. Parents were never informed when teachers left, when a teacher was on vacation, or when there would be major changes in the classroom. We would just find out after the fact, which is unacceptable. This school used to have a strong community and many families, but it has been declining rapidly. Dedicated teachers are leaving because of the poor leadership and lack of respect, and the ones who stay often seem stressed and overwhelmed. It’s a sad situation, because the potential is there, but with the current administration, it is not being realized. For these reasons, I cannot recommend this school. Families deserve honesty, stability, open communication, and an environment where both children and teachers are valued. Unfortunately, that is not what you will find here. I truly hope the owner opens his eyes and makes the changes that are desperately needed, because our children deserve so much better.

We have had such a wonderful experience at SteppingStone Montessori School, and I cannot say enough about the caring staff and nurturing environment they provide. With over 2 decades of Montessori experience, Ms. Elizabeth brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and leadership that truly shines through in the way she runs the school. Beyond her professional expertise, what stands out most is her genuine love for children and her willingness to go above and beyond to support families. She listens, understands, and encourages in a way that makes SteppingStone feel like a second home. We really gotten a tremendous support and care from Ms. Elizabeth and she is unique. A heartfelt thank you goes to Ms. Yennifer, Ms. Maria, and Ms. Ramla, the classroom teachers who have been incredibly caring and supportive of my daughter. The love and patience they show every single day is remarkable. My daughter felt so comfortable in their classroom that she never wanted to leave! They treat their students as if they were their own children, creating a warm, safe, and joyful environment for learning. Their dedication has had such a positive impact on my child’s growth and happiness. I would also like to thank Ms. Carter, whose efforts in supporting the school’s facility operations have made a world of difference. She is always attentive and helpful, ensuring that children and families have everything they need. The Montessori approach here is thoughtfully implemented, and it’s clear that the entire staff—from the teachers to the administrators—genuinely care about each child’s development both academically and emotionally. We are deeply grateful for the kindness, compassion, and support we’ve received from the SteppingStone community. It is rare to find a school that combines outstanding education with such genuine love and personal care. I wholeheartedly recommend SteppingStone Montessori to any family looking for a place where children can thrive, learn, and feel truly cherished.
