St Rose Of Lima

We chose to attend St. Rose Lima's Christmas Eve Children's Mass to take part in the pure joy of celebrating the birth of Jesus with all of the excited children and their parents. The church was packed with standing room only and there was an overflow room where Mass was being streamed. Hundreds of children and their parents in their Christmas finery waited to celebrate the birth of Christ. Instead, the priest reread the Gospel of Joseph's dream from the previous Sunday and for added "children's entertainment" read the genealogy of Jesus - all 14 generations. The sermon focused not on the birth of Christ but the covenant of marriage. WOW!!! Worst Children's Mass in the history of the church! (While I am aware that the Gospel reading was an option for Christmas Eve. It most assuredly was not an option for this particular Mass.)

I'm a parishioner of St Rose of Lima and if you're looking for a great Catholic church, stop looking; you found a great community. I'm the arts and crafts teacher for our VBS program and also the crafts coordinator for CCE. The kids love the interactive environment. We have countless ministries which I am apart of 4!! Both of my kids are in scouts thru the church. I haven't oldest in boy scouts and I became a leader to my daughter's girl scout troop. Another favorite of mine is the prayer blanket ministry! We have ladies such as myself who hand crochet, or hand knit, or make no-sew fleece blankets or cotton sewn just lap throws for the sick or people in need of prayer. My whole family enjoys this church with all our hearts and souls. The pictures below are fromour VBS program this year that I personally made and from our blanket ministry that I crocheted.

Two years ago we registered at St. Rose of Lima. Every sermon has been very educational. We love that! We look forward to attending mass on Sundays because we know that we will be learning. That is what it should always be. ❤️

Only because I had to write a review. If not this church deserves 0 stars. My son is 2 1/2 months, we got out the icu a couple of days ago because of a stroke he suffered …. We went to the chapel everyday to thank the lord he left us our son and fought with us when doctors gave us the worst. Today I decided to find a church. ⛪️ my husband was insisting to go here because his childhood. So I went ahead. Mind your my baby has a ventilator, to help him on his breathing at times, it does make a beep / alarming noise… only to advise us everything is fine / or something is wrong. It wasn’t a consistent sound but my baby boy needs it for his health. We where there for 10 minutes or less and a “pastor” “father” came upon me and gave me this bothered mean look and had the nerve in the most rude way with a face expression “does that have to make that noise” “THAT” is the machine who helps my son breathe. I look at him so disappointed and replied yes of course he has this to help him breath. And he looked and me with this face like “oh, okay” the rudest way, no type of feelings or anything… didn’t mind to say anything. I looked at my husband and we left, as we’re leaving they had the nerve to point us to a separate room .. I told them what makes yall think I’m going to stay another second in this church where clearly everyone is looking at us and we’re going to be selected to a different room from everyone? Why because my son has special needs to breath? This is a home of god? This is the most disgusting sad behavior I’ve ever experience in a church. You people should be a shame to call yourself after someone spreading the love and word of our FATHER LORD! Our lord who does not judge , or separate kids with needs or no needs. Healthy or not 100% healthy. My baby is 2 1/2 months and not once did yall even have sympathy..
