St. Peter'S Preschool & Kindergarten

We love St. Peter’s! This is our third preschool experience since we recently moved to this area, and it’s easily our favorite school. My son is in kindergarten and daughter is in the 3’s program, and we couldn’t be happier. All of the staff is so warm and nurturing. You can feel the Holy Spirit the second you walk onto campus. They allow kids to truly be kids, and I find their curriculum to be age appropriate. We’re so happy to be apart of this little community.

I fully agree with earlier comment. My 3 year old was enrolled there. We informed them that it was his first time being away from us and he doesnt speak english. They asked us to pick him up in 2 hrs everyday because he was crying and asked us to leave program in following week if he wouldnt stop crying. My son was there for total of 9 hrs, they didnt even give him enough time to adjust. I dont think they even made enough efforts to help him adjust. They lack patience and empathy. They said my son was under distress. They need to learn what distress really mean. He is a perfect child. To their credit, school may be good for kids who have been to the outside facilities before and knows english. Its definately not a PRE SCHOOL. They need to keep it as one of the criteria in their admission process. Please stay away from this place if this is first being away from your child.

Our 2 year experience here was less than wonderful. However there are great things about this school , like price, cleanliness, small class size, overall safe, super friendly and it’s Christian principles. I personally would not recommend this school if you have a typical boy. Several teachers have said they “prefer girls”. If your kid doesn’t fit in a box they will recommend several therapies and doctors to get your child evaluated for autism and adhd. When you get evaluations that say they don’t have these “issues” they ask to go to another doctor and make you feel pressured to get your child on medication just to make their day easier. For the record our child is not autistic after 3 evaluations. Teachers gossip about other kids to other parents as well. We rarely got positive feedback even when huge progress was made. Our son improved on his testing over 200% and landed where they asked him to be. The response to this was “he’s still too below average for us”. We were told our son could not participate in the end of school spring concert because they were afraid he would cry and get overwhelmed. We had a plan to have him sit with us in the the audience to make him less nervous but they said they think it’s best if he’s just not there. We missed his end of year clap out graduation because his teacher said he’s going to be upset you’re here and be emotional. He was more emotional that I wasn’t there to see him. They then waited until the last week of school to tell us that they changed their minds and didn’t want us back next year. Because they waited so long all the schools were already full. We decided we would have to homeschool him but because they waited so long to communicate this to us we were unable switch our step up scholarship to PEP and lost $8000 in funding for the 25’/26’ school year.

I searched many preschools in the area of Lake Mary and Sanford and found that St. Peter's had the most welcoming staff and atmosphere. I felt very comfortable from initial visit through the entire school year. This was my daughters first year enrolled in any school and of course she had seperation anxiety in the beginning, but the teachers and director were very helpful in making it a great transition for her. She loves it and will probably miss it this summer. We will be back next year!
