I have tried various catholic churches around the Savannah area. From my first visit here this one feels like home. While the cathedral downtown is stunning, I wanted a church that I could connect with the people and learn at mass. The lead priest here is down to earth and really does a great job in his homily relating the readings to our daily lives. The congregation holds hands during the Lord's Prayer (where I came from this was standard at every catholic church I thought, but apparently not standard at many churches in Savannah) which I love and gives me a sense of community and belonging. This is only the church I have found in the Savannah area that has a Life Teen program with a Life Teen mass- every 3rd Thursday of the month!! And the 7:30am mass on Sunday doesn't play music if you are looking for a more down to business, in and out and on with your day type service. I moved here in April 2018 it is now December and I am so glad I finally found this church!!
Visited "Home" in Savannah, GA a week ago to pay respect to my recent lost cousin. As a proud Catholic, I'd say Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church is among the most warming Church around. Feels like "Home." In God We Trust. God Bless the City of Savannah.
I am not a member, or even Catholic for that matter. But this is a great church and congregation. Very friendly and welcoming people and the great community involvement on the island.
Wonderful Parish. Warm friendly people. Wonderful priests and Deacon. Great school!
This church has been so kind to me in my time here. Wether it’s going to CCD, church, or church events, I feel welcome and appreciated. Most importantly, I feel like I belong somewhere!
