A wonderfully welcoming congregation of very diverse people. Father / Monsignor Val had just celebrated the 45th anniversary of his ordination and his homily was still timely. Some unique aspects of this parish is that you come forward to the alter with your donation which I have never before, and the sign of peace was almost a mixer where you do far more that extended the courtesy of a handshake to just those in your immediate vicinity but instead make your way around the church to offer a greeting to as many or all.
We went to mass here and were so surprised by the hospitality of the people of this congregation. The Father stopped by and spoke to us, the parishioners were helpful and friendly. We were glad we stopped by.
I was in town for the weekend only, and was Welcomed with a warm reception for strangers. Father is very enthusiastic and makes a wonderful sermon. One of the parishioners didn’t want me to walk back to my hotel and gave me a ride home for my own safety. We both agreed it probably was not necessary but better safe than sorry.
Great church about 5 minutes walk from Beale street. The priest had a great homily and was very welcoming. When we walked up he was out front waving at cars as the passed by!! They didn't have kneeled when we went so sit and stand is the norm here. You can kneel on the floor if you want to, it is ceramic tile.
