What Parents Say
St. Matthew Lutheran Preschool receives overwhelmingly positive reviews, with parents praising the caring pastors, welcoming environment, and quality children's programs. One parent expressed concerns about the worship service style not matching traditional LCMS expectations, though they noted friendly staff and welcoming congregation members.
I certainly don’t like to leave bad reviews of a church but I want others who are looking for a traditional LCMS service to be aware of our experience. Our family is new to the area and we are trying to find a new church home. We enjoy a traditional LCMS service, using the LSB. This church claims a blended service described on their website as “incorporates the basics of traditional liturgy and a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary worship music”. That is not what we got. No true confession, no absolution, no creeds, a singular reading, no true benediction. The sermon was so performative and shallow that it made our entire group uncomfortable. I can only describe it as tele fundraising evangelist vibes. The service itself was lacking any type of liturgy. We all agreed that we’ve been to non denominational services with more substance. I will say that the people greeting when we arrived were very friendly and the members of the congregation seemed welcoming. It does appear that they’re starting the call process for a new pastor so maybe things will change with new leadership.
I am so grateful to have caring, dedicated Pastors that preach the law and gospel. The growth opportunities abound. One of those opportunities allow me to fellowship in a small group setting with my sisters in Christ. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to attend and serve others at St. Matthew.
This church is such a blessing to our family! The dedication and passion they have for being the hands and feet of Jesus is so moving. They make everyone feel welcome and cared for!
I've been going to Lutheran churches for over 20 years. This church is wonderful. My children and I really like the pastors, the music, and the uplifting message of God's grace.
Always welcoming and inspiring. Lots of activities to get involved in; music is awesome, caring personal pastoring and a variety of worship times and musical venues.
