St. Luke'S Umc Challengers Program

Great church with great services. I've been attending since the beginning of November since moving to the area. My service dog in training attends nearly every weekend with me. (He's still very much so learning and everyone is open to respecting boundaries.) I volunteer regularly with what I can. Lots of activities are going on regularly. The environment has been welcoming since the very beginning and I am always looking forward to return the following Sunday. The church definitely has built a good community. We just recently had a family wedding at St. Luke's United Methodist Church. The sanctuary is completely beautiful on its own with all of the stained glass windows. We did decorate but didn't have to do as much. The people were so easy to work with and had a lot of good suggestions. They went out of their way to make sure we had accessible extra parking and did special things like add the engagement pictures to their monitors in the common areas to welcome the wedding guests. This venue is adjacent to many new restaurants and is within walking distance of Char which is an excellent rehearsal dinner venue. It is so centrally located to other dinner and reception venues. The front entrance of the church was really cool spot for pictures. It was the perfect place for the wedding!

The special events coordinator was extremely helpful and we had a very happy experience. The sanctuary is a beautiful setting for a wedding and the people at the church make it so easy. We can't say enough about Sarah Wofford! Positive, organized and professional. We didn't have to worry about a thing the day of the wedding - everything was handled.

St Luke’s is wonderful!! We were welcomed into the St Luke’s family from our first visit! The church is very warm and welcoming! Now my daughter just graduated from the day school and will be a part of the after school program in the fall as well.

This is the worst church ever. I have been to many churches trying to find one that is warm and welcoming. This church has to be the farthest from that. I can't believe they even teach the bible. They are all about rules and teach that anything outside of their close minded ways will send you to Hell. Even those who wish to have a wedding there are WARNED TO PICK ANOTHER PLACE. They do not allow anything to be done to their chapel for they worship the items in their pew more than they do the coming together of a couple in holy matrimony. The wedding coordinator as no idea about anything that goes on around the church. She must ask someone else for every little question. For a lady who has been doing this for years, you would think she would know simple things. Also, she does not bind herself to the contract, she will actually contradict what is said in the contract. Even if you two agree on something five times, she will continue to change her mind and say that she said something else. Make sure to keep all email, have everything in writting, and maybe even keep a voice recorder. We had to, to make sure she stuck with what we agreed upon. All the pictures of your ceremony will be a piece of crap if you higher a photographer because they must stay in the balcony which has an awful view of the ceremony. There are more silly rules to stop your special day from being special then there needs to be. I understand not harming the church or setting it on fire but some of the rules are just plain silly. They are really hard to deal with, even getting a hold of them is a pain in the butt. It takes anywhere from 3 to 6 days for the wedding coordinator to get back to you on even the simplest of questions. They seem to worship their rules more than being kind to the people that go there. And forget most traditional decorations, that goes against almost all their rules. Please for your sake and even for your sanity pick a different church. All around they are horrible and I am sad to say any of this because all churches should be understanding and not bull headed.
