My mother has had dementia for 6 years and I’ve called over a dozen charity organizations to remove her name from their mailing list in an effort to trim the paper avalanche my father has to deal with. Most charities are extremely sympathetic and helpful. St Labre says I must send them a copy of her power of attorney form in order to remove her name. Absolutely absurd. She has never even donated to them - surely they purchased her name from some other organization. But from other comments it seems there is nothing you can do to get off once your name is on their list.
