St. John's is like Heaven on earth. The priests are dedicated to their parish family and, as they put it, "our beautiful Catholic faith." Jesus is present and we can feel His presence in our priests. I cannot express adequately enough what it means to have incredibly dedicated priests, great examples of love and faith which is shared fully to all. This is precious and priceless. We feel so incredibly blessed. Thank you God, for our parish of St. John the Baptist in New Brighton!
Yesterday, my family went to Saint John to attend my niece’s baptism as guests. While there my 4-year daughter was thirsty, so we went to grab some water in the banquet hall for her. The two ladies who were serving donuts and drinks were not too friendly when we asked for a cup of water for my daughter. They probably think we’re there for the coffee and donuts.
SJB is a remarkable place of worship that truly embodies community and faith. The welcoming atmosphere and the commitment of the parishioners make it a warm and inviting environment for both new visitors and long-time members. The church offers a variety of programs for all ages, from youth activities to adult education, fostering a strong sense of community. The staff and clergy are approachable and genuinely care about the congregation, always ready to offer guidance and support. Overall, Saint John the Baptist is not just a place to attend Mass; it’s a vibrant community that nurtures faith, connection, and service. Highly recommended.
They have helped me in the past with no issues, but im assuming after people was abusing the help by lying they became very rude && not willing to help certain people like myself overall. They would say “oh we’ve helped you in the past” but i was told i could get help at least once a year. I never abused that though i only reached out when i had no other options which is mostly in the summer. I work for the school bus company so when there is no school there is no work. I am a single mother due to my kid’s father being killed at work so it does get hard sometimes. The most I’ve ever needed help with was 300- maybe 400$ they have became very distasteful and rude. The way they talked to me was not in a Godly way at all. I felt belittled for needing help. I felt judged, i felt discouraged and very disappointed because i thought that’s what they are supposed to do, help people in the time of need not talk to me as if im worthless. It was bad enough asking for the help but because talked to like im a piece of trash put the icing on the cake. I hope they never make anyone else feel how bad they made me feel….
I am Jewish-Christian ✝️, but I have found that the Priests; Father Paul and Father Joseph and the old priest before them are wonderful, PRO-Life people who not Only care for their people, but also for others in a Real Loving way despite ones Faith or no Faith . They reminded me of now dead Father Timothy Noland who started The Catholic Church of St Paul that use to tell Catholics During Mass were to actually turn to the Scripture Readings in God's Bible -- of about 200 that were opened. Until the other priests and authorities finally phased it out. Ctrl etc
