We had a wonderful experience at St. John's. Our daughter's teacher, Ms. Shelly, was caring, creative and truly engaged in our child's experience day to day. We were updated multiple times daily through the app with photos and descriptions of activities, and we received loads of completed schoolwork showing progress. Our daughter was truly happy here, often saying how excited she was to go to school, and we only left due to a move. St. John's is a wonderful alternative to some of the corporate or franchise for-profit centers that cram children into small classrooms with overworked, constantly rotating teachers. Highly recommend this program.
My twins go here and they absolutely love their teachers. They communicate with me about every day issues and have been so great with my kiddos. I always ask them if they had a good day at school and it’s always YES. I love that they send me pictures throughout the day of what they’re doing and learning. They have the most extravagant birthday parties for the kids and are always so sweet and understanding.
I sent my son here last year. If you're looking for a place that will actually benefit your child, go somewhere else. Instead of actual childcare and helping teach kids about their feelings and how to express them, they call the parents to come pick up the child. I understand if things are really out of control but there was a time they called me EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR A WEEK to pick my kid up. I nearly lost my job because this childcare facility doesn't actually know how to take care of kids. My son and I have dealt with trauma, instead of helping families like most places would in that situation, they made my son feel like he was a bad kid and no one wanted to be around him. And to top it off, when I told them he will not be coming back, they reported multiple unexcused absences and caused us to lose our ccap. This place is horrible.
I let my daughter attend here because she was board over summer break and they had a Groupon. Walking in was fine. But even on day 3 she had no sign in/out sheet. (It clearly states in the parent handbook they they will not take responsibility for kids that are not signed in) I was reassured by the girl that it would be taken care of. It never was. I also expressed to the staff that I want my daughter to have her phone on her at all times. I want to be able to call/text and for her to be able to call/text when need be. She does not have games on her phone, she does not sit on her phone and play, she only uses it to communicate with me and my husband. Despite me explaining this, they took her phone away because she was texting me. My daughter explained she was replying to my text and the staff then said, "I dont care, I'm taking your phone" this is absolutely inexcusable and very poor conduct for a child care. My daughter is 12, has attended many daycares and camps and we have never experienced such disregard for the parents request . With all of the horriable things that have gone on in our community I dont feel like it is too much to ask to allow kids to have phones. In the even that something happened, and my daughter could not reach me, what would they do then? My guess is revise their "policy" well sorry, my daughter will not be a statistic as long as I have anything to do with it. My daughter, or any of my kids for that matter wont be going back here. My suggestion is to think twice about taking your kids here.
