St Johns Early Education And Preschool

This may seem crazy, as my daughter attended St. John's years and years ago. It was the ONLY preschool in Haywood County that accepted kids with special needs. Haywood County Schools refused to acknowledge my daughter's autism; I had to do my own search for a preschool. Reach out to local agencies. (I will update this review when I have time to research which agency helped me.) SJ was patient with my daughter and she was engaged and happy there. Ms. Debbie, the director, was great. She took the time to sit down with us and explained the ropes. Her teacher, Ms. Cecily, was sweet and encouraged my daughter to learn new skills. However, ironically, Haywood County Schools was involved and failed my daughter, again. (This was the second time in a loooong line of failures on the part of HCS if you count the first refusal to acknowledge the autism.) HCS did give my daughter speech services. Her speech therapist, Kathleen, who is still currently employed by HCS, was not showing up for my daughter's speech therapy sessions. I found this out because I asked the SJ teacher if I could view the log book. When I asked the Haywood County Exceptional Children's director about that, it was explained to me that "Kathleen had just had a baby." Because I did not educate myself about special needs laws until much later, I did not know that that was illegal. Oh, and I should have emailed the director. If you call, you have no proof of your complaint. If you do email, they are sometimes shady enough to call you back. If they do call you back, it is because school systems know that those emails are free to be published to the general public. If email access is refused, again, that is illegal. Summation: SJ is great, but then I would relocate to a county that is more progressive. Sounds unfeasible, but my daughter and I went through hell.

My child is special needs, she is abused, not feed, treated different and neglected, I have told management and thieve said they would deal with it, nothing has changed, do not send your kids here! This is jail for your babies

The most loving person Debbie is EXCELLENT about a special child's needs... She has been helping me with my LO and I JUST LOVE HER!

Terrible terrible how do yall allow children to bite each other and not inform the parent not to mention the other numerous negligent complaints you all have . You all should not be in charge of children
