I cannot recommend St. John's enough for early childhood learning and development! My son attended all three years before attending public school and was well above grade level, and my daughter is currently finishing up Kindergarten. The environment is safe and welcoming with the teachers full of love and individual support for each child. I have appreciated the teaching of values without shame, intertwined with a solid foundation of education, setting my children up well for their future. It has been the best decision we could make for them and would do it again!
St John Lutheran School is such a wonderful school if you want individualized attention, lots of field trips and cultivating a love for education. Both my children have attended this school and they surpassed all kids that went to other schools with the reading, writing and social skills needed for higher education. It was a let down for them when they found out that other schools didn't have the personal attention or lesson plans that were so interactive and fun. My older child didn't fall behind during the pandemic because she was so advanced due to the amazing teachers at St John's Lutheran School. I wish they went higher than kindergarten. I am grateful for the building blocks the teachers taught my children because they use them every day.
I am a past parent of St. John’s. There are not enough amazing things I can say about this program. My oldest attended in the summer only but my youngest was here from the 3’s class through kindergarten. The program is amazing, the teachers are even more amazing. The love and dedication they have for these children is overflowing. My youngest daughter excelled in everything here, reading early, writing proficiency early, math skills, social skills and learning to love and care for those around her. My oldest went through the Salem/Keizer pre K and kindergarten program and there was a VAST difference in their educations and experience. I wish we would have known this sooner. My daughters are now 20 and 22 and look back fondly at their time there. They have real loving connections with this place and teachers even after all this time. I highly recommend this program. St. John’s feels like family!
We heard of St. John’s through two separate friends and could not have been more pleased with our experience! Our daughter received the best care and education for her pre-k and kindergarten experience. And that is saying a lot considering they were doing this all in the middle of a pandemic. The teachers are so dedicated and supportive to the students and their role in shaping early learning. I continue to highly recommend this little gem to anybody looking for early education in Salem.
The staff at St. John are experienced and caring. They provide the perfect balance of learning and play, while teaching kids to care and emphasize. My kids got the best start here, and were happy, loved, and valued every single day! St. John’s is absolutely the best program around!
