St James Lutheran Preschool & Child Care Center

St. James has been a great school for my son because of the Director Linda and her staff of teachers. Linda cares for the children and their safety FIRST and always goes above and beyond to make sure the children have what they need and are learning. St. James has come a very long way since having Linda on board. She and the staff are friendly, kind and make me feel very comfortable leaving my son every day. Thank you Linda and Teachers for loving and caring for my son. :)

I waited months to leave this review (my kids last attended in January/February 2021) because I really wanted to be as fair as possible with this school. It is very affordable and I believed the church wanted to run a good preschool. However, now that my children are excelling in new schools and have been for some time, I felt it was time to provide my review. I cannot recommend this school and I would say you'd be doing damage to your children by sending them here. If I could give the school zero stars, I would. The new director, Linda (new as of January 2021) is horrendous and I do not believe she had the children's best interest in mind. I feel so much guilt for ever trusting that school to care for and supposedly educate my children. Not only did they completely fail my son, my daughter attended the kindergarten class and received no kindergarten curriculum and was only reading because I worked with her at home. Thankfully she was accepted into Oceanview and in half a year they caught her up and she is now attending 1st grade. There is so much more I could say about this school but I will just say, knowing what I know now, I wish I had never sent my kids there. Check out Oceanview Christian Academy and Preschool, I can highly recommend them.

This school is by far the worst school in Imperial Beach, starting directly with the school director, Linda Medez. If you question any thing she does your child will have to pay the price and will be expelled from school. Teachers, I hope you keep your options to your self. She would probably fire you as well. Save yourself the money and find a new school. Linda is by far the most unprofessional. Said my wife questioned her and did not smile when she came in as that was grounds to expell a 5 year old. Instead of having a meeting she threw a letter in our stroller and walked away. For a church they don't seem to follow the jesus way. I guess not all are accepted.

The Facebook page needs to be UPDATED. The qualified staff and Director that made this school a success ARE ALL GONE. Along with quality services, The school still showing old pictures from the past. Post new pictures and show staff qualifications. Feel bad for any child attending

At St James Lutheran Preschool the children safety and well being is a priority, children need to be safe at all times, if a child's behavior becomes not safe for himself or others and all options have been exhausted they need to be placed in a more appropriate environment.
