What Parents Say
NOTE: These reviews appear to be for St. Elizabeth's Catholic Parish, not a daycare center. Reviews consistently praise the welcoming community, beautiful sanctuary with traditional liturgical elements like an altar rail, multiple Mass times in different languages (English, Spanish, Vietnamese), and availability of confession. Parents highlight the friendly atmosphere and opportunities for faith formation and volunteering.
For the traveling Catholic attentive to liturgy: This is not a truly traditional parish, but for an English Novus Ordo the liturgy is considerably higher than a normal American parish. - the Mass is offered versus populum, and as of Feb 2026 they still have the Benedictine arrangement (standing crucifix on the altar table) - they have an altar rail which they actually use, and the priest and deacon will give communion on the tongue (though many people receive in the hand) - all the altar servers are male in surplice and cassock However, - there are women lectors - there are lots of Extraordinary Ministers (though you can avoid them by going to the rail) - some of the EM have chalices for receiving under the Second Kind - they do “share the peace” Summary: if you’re a traditionally minded Catholic you’ll likely be annoyed, but liturgically it’s probably better than 95% of American parishes. There is a true TLM parish (Regina Coeli - FSSP) about 11 miles away. The Anglican Use (Our Lady of Walsingham) is about 14 miles away. Both of those will have much higher liturgies. (The star review is obviously meaningless but I had to put in something the leave the comment.)
I have been at this Parish for over 20 years. Our community is large and diverse. I choose to volunteer whenever I can, and enjoy all the options they have for Prayer and services. Our community members are genuinely kind, and there isnt ever a day that I go, that there isnt someone I know, with a smile and a hello. I enjoy being a part of this community, and I understand no one is perfect, including and especially me. I pray and hope I make anyone new feel welcome, and pray for everyone that arrives- and those that don't. God bless.
beautiful sanctuary, one of the few churches in Houston that has an altar rail. beautiful chapel as well filled with different Marian statues as well as a corner space dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel, have not seen that before. one of the few churches that have more than 2 priests on hand to hear confession
Came here for confession. The whole process was quite nice and they progressed quite quickly. I haven't been here for mass or anything, but it looks like a great church. The inside of the church itself is large and quite nice.
Standard Catholic Church. A bit older and we've seen stains in the pews. Parking is cluttered. We stop in for 8:30am Mass when visiting family.
