A wonderful community where children truly thrive! Top National Catholic education in Florida! We have been part of the St. Bonaventure family for 13 years now, and I cannot say enough good things about this school. From the moment you walk onto the campus, you can feel the sense of community and warmth. Here are the things that set this school apart for us: • Academic Excellence: The curriculum is rigorous and engaging. My children are being challenged every day but have the support they need to succeed. I feel confident they are being perfectly prepared for high school and beyond. • Character Development: Beyond just grades, the school focuses heavily on building good character. The Catholic values of kindness, service, and respect are woven into everything they do. The weekly Mass is amazing. • The Teachers: The faculty here is incredible. They don’t just teach; they truly care about the students. It feels like a partnership between the parents and the teachers. If you are looking for a place where your child will be safe, loved, and educated to a high standard, St. Bonaventure is the place to be. We are so grateful to be here!
Good church. The school leaves a lot to be desired. If you’re looking for your child to get a solid education and have well-organized extracurricular activities, take your money elsewhere. This is not it. We are now in our second year at St. Bonaventure, and despite our daughter being one of the top students in her class, we have decided to pull her out and enroll her in a better school. The academic rigor is inconsistent, communication is lacking, and extracurricular programs feel poorly planned and under-supported. Knowing what we know now, it makes sense why there are such few high achieving students in each class. For the cost and expectations associated with this school, the overall experience has been disappointing. We had hoped for stronger academics, better organization, and a more enriching environment. Unfortunately, St. Bonaventure did not meet those expectations.
Sending my three children to St. Bonaventure Catholic School was the best parenting decision I’ve ever made. The faith-centered education, caring teachers and staff, supportive families, and the guidance of Father Ed have had a profound impact on my now young adults. They grew not only academically, but also in character and Faith. We are incredibly thankful for this community!
Our family’s experience at this Catholic school was not what we hoped for when seeking a Christ-centered education. We expected an environment that nurtured faith, character, and spiritual growth through Christ’s example. We decided that the best path was to Homeschool our kid. Since first grade, we began noticing behavior among peers that was concerning for our child’s age, including inappropriate words, gestures, and early “boyfriend-girlfriend” situations (First Grade). These moments challenged our efforts to raise our child in purity and biblical values. We were also surprised by certain events promoted by the school. For example, a Taylor Swift–themed movie night was organized for the little ones. While many families may enjoy this, we personally found it inconsistent with Catholic pro-life teachings. As 1 Corinthians 10:21 reminds us, “You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too.” In addition, their main festivals for the school members and the community included alcohol sales and consumption while families and children were present. Some adult social gatherings for the parents were advertised as “Sip and Be Social” or casino-themed events/gala. While we understand these may aim to build an inclusive community, we personally felt they were not consistent with the reverence we associate with a Catholic school setting. As Jesus said in Matthew 21:12–13, “My house will be called a house of prayer.” Our family also chooses not to celebrate Halloween or encourage non-biblical costumes. We prefer activities that focus on what is good to the Lord. We were also concerned when a private parents’ and community chat group—separate from the official school channels—was asked to be closed (and was closed) after parents were sharing freed ideas about improving safety for their children. Despite these challenges, we continue to pray for the students, teachers, and parish community. We trust that God will bring wisdom and renewal to every heart, as Philippians 1:6 reminds us: “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
