What Parents Say
SPARKS Learning Center (formerly Applejacks) in Moore, Oklahoma is highly rated by parents for its caring staff, new ownership, and structured curriculum. Parents consistently praise the individual attention given to children, low staff-to-child ratios, STEM-based program, and communication app. One parent noted excellent service overall but mentioned past issues with staff consistency and app updates in the infant/toddler rooms.
My son went here for almost a year from 8 months to 18 months and they did great overall! Angela is the infant teacher and she is amazing!! She constantly gave updates and would talk with me about my son. He loved her and so did I! I will say they did have trouble with keeping staff while we were there and most teachers were good except Makayla. Her daughter attended the daycare and was often in her class and I found that to be distracting for her as she would pay most attention to her daughter. She was also not professional and we will leave it at that. The toddler room had trouble keeping the app updated with his daily diaper changes and nap. They can improve on that. I went to the director many times with this issue. Carly, the director, was great at listening when I had any questions or issues and she is very sweet. Overall, this is a good daycare. Angela, Carly and Autumn hold it together and take great care of the children!
I can't say enough positive things about Sparks! My daughter started in the infant room in June 2019 and as she learned to walk and progressed at her own pace, they made the decision to move her up with the toddlers after they knew she was big enough and had the skills to interact with the bigger kids. I love that they took the time to evaluate her as an individual and address her needs as she grew, instead of just bumping her up when she hit a specific age. The day I toured the daycare the teacher in the infant room had the babies seated, gathered around and quietly listening to a story. Wow! The teachers have listened to my dietary requests as my daughter transitioned from homemade purees and breast milk to all solid foods, and we've not had a single issue. She is now learning to use utensils at mealtime, and we didn't even start that at home. They use the bright wheel app to communicate with parents, so I get pictures of her play and her art all day long. We also get notifications on her meals and diaper changes throughout the day. It was scary to leave my daughter with anyone after taking her with me every day for 8 months, but the staff at Sparks put me at ease immediately. I can't recommend them enough! Fair pricing, structured curriculum for all ages, and truly compassionate teachers. My little one now nods her head yes when asked if she's ready to go to "school." We are so happy with Sparks Learning Center!
This is a phenomenal daycare and we are so blessed to have found them! We honestly cannot say enough good things about them. The owners, director, and teachers are all so incredibly kind and caring! They truly care about every single child and love them like they are their own. They invest in the growth and learning of their teachers and work with each child as an individual to help them grow and develop! We love them and we know you will too!
This place is the absolute worst. If you care about your children's well-being RUN! They constantly lose clothes. Your children come home filthy. Yesterday at pickup my child's feet were rubbed raw from them misplacing her socks, and shoes. Mrs Angela, and Mrs Kelsey are absolute delights. The director Carley is a disaster who has no idea what is going on, and is never there. The place is run down and disgusting. Carly needs to reassess her occupation because she is not fit for leadership. We will be reporting a DHS complaint. This place needs to be shut down.
They don't report injuries. They don't administer first aid. They are typically out of ratio. When held accountable, the director claimed Harassment and threatened to press charges, after trying to fabricate a story, when the teacher didn't know what happened. Look out for the teachers kid.. he's a bully. I've tried being passive, but 5 unreported injuries since late November is enough to boil my blood.
