I really wish I could get this place higher than a five star rating. My son has been going to this daycare since he was six weeks old and I can’t imagine us anywhere else. As a first time parent, it was terrifying leaving my infant with strangers. While it was in an adjustment at first for me, my son seemed to immediately get on a great schedule. There are many teachers here that have become family. There has been one instance where I had a concern and brought it to the Director. This concern was immediately taken seriously, and it was taken care of before he returned the next day. This is one of the many examples of how well the center is run as well how parents concerns are addressed appropriately. The food prepared is great, Spanish lessons are well received by the students, there are multiple extracurricular activities that you can opt in for and great lesson plans. I’m so grateful that this was our first and only daycare experience as I know not many families get lucky. My child loves going to daycare and we look forward to many more years at Southside.

I attended Southside 26 years ago and was so excited when I moved back to Baton Rouge last year and had the opportunity to send my own son there! The new owners, as well as the incredible staff, have made my sons experience so great, which in turn is the best thing I could ask for as a parent. The new director has been great at communicating and making parents feel heard and included in their child’s care. I love that the class sizes are small, as well so I know my child is always being well looked after and attended too. Oh and not to mention, the chef at the school is phenomenal, we absolutely love the school meal fundraisers! He is a much better chef than I, and so my husband and son love when I bring home some of the chef’s plate dinners! That’s a #wifewin and a #momwin

This center is the best childcare center you could send your children to in Baton Rouge. They always focus on your individual child's needs and make sure they are getting the attention they deserve. The nursery teachers listen to every detailed instruction you give them and execute it to the best of their ability. My three children have gone through Southside and were at the top of their class in the gifted program at a public school. What I loved about the center is the Director. She always made sure your problems were taken care of as quick as possible and she pushes her employees to be the best they can be. Being a former Daycare worker, I know it can be hard to keep good staff and turn over is a common problem at MANY childcare centers. But at Southside, they have employees who have been there for 12+ years. They are doing something right. Love this place. The food is unique too, they have a professional chef who works there and makes the food all week. Very little of it is pre-cooked food you buy frozen, but he still always manages to pair it with fresh vegetables. The morning crew makes it easy to drop off my children in the morning! Definitely recommend this place!

My child currently attends Southside and I would recommend the center to my family and friends. I am very pleased with the teachers and the way that my child has blossomed. It’s a very structured environment with a detailed schedule and weekly activities such as swimming, gardening and tumbling. The seasoned teachers that have been with the center for years are excellent and always listen to any of my concerns. I also like the fact that this is a top rated center which is evident in the efficiency of the daily schedule. Lastly, Southside has an amazing chef who has even managed to make cauliflower appealing for my child.

I can not say enough good things about this daycare. The teachers are wonderful and really care about the children that they take care of. My 2 year old attended until she went to PREK and I just enrolled my 1 year old. She's in a different class and I am just as happy. I dont' worry when I leave her and that's important. The center is clean and secure. The Chef is also amazing and my 2 year old would complain that my food was "yucky" compared to his. I liked the previous owner and the new owner seems really nice. My only complaint was the way we were notified about certain things via Facebook and I think the new owner will be changing that. Again, overall this is a great place to send your little ones.
