It’s definitely not a gym made for many members. They have a group glass Monday and Wednesday in the main lifting area. You can’t use any of the equipment 9am-10 and they have classes in the downstairs lifting area going on at the same time. It’s not a big enough gym to allow that. It’s the only time I have not to be rushed with my toddler and I can’t get my workout in.I’m a mother and don’t have the flexibility that some of the other members have. If you look on the floor by the machines especially the leg press it’s covered in dirt and hair. Lastly, I’m not sure why they haven’t put the pool in like they said they would. Staff is super friendly
The YMCA is good overall and I would recommend it. All of the adult staff is friendly and my kids can hang out and play ping pong or shoot hoops while I work out. It can get busy at certain times but generally you get what you need. My only 2 issues: 1. NO POOL! 2. It could use more consistent cleaning (the younger staff seem more interested in working out than doing actual work). Overall I like the Y.
I have been going to this facility 3-5 times per week on average for the past 7 months. Typically, I go with 2 other individuals. This is a terrific place, with excellent staff, very good facilities, and, in general, a lot of opportunities for positive recreational experiences. I would recommend the Exeter YMCA to anyone!!
This is an excellent place. It's nice and clean with great amenities. My son loves the basketball courts plus the ability to use other YMCA's in surrounding areas is great. I haven't tried the classes but they seem well organized and fun. Give it a try 🌺
Much nicer than the Portsmouth Y, albeit no pool (though I understand there is one being planned); much nicer equipment; a lot of space to do stretching, etc... in the classrooms if there are no classes. Only issue is that it seems every area 7th-12th grader in the area utilizes the basketball court; hence swarms of people need to share each basket to try & shoot; don't know if there is a solution- just an unfortunate reality.
