I visited here Sony Studios several years ago, and it’s one of those experiences that stayed with me long after I left. Walking through a real working studio lot... knowing that some of the most iconic films in history were made there... felt surreal. There is something powerful about standing on ground where so much creativity and storytelling has happened. It gives you a deeper appreciation for the craft behind the movies we grow up watching. What struck me most about the place was the atmosphere. It didn’t feel like a theme park. It felt authentic. Quiet stages, historic buildings, and that unmistakable sense that something meaningful had been created there before you arrived, which would continue long after leaving. Looking back it reminds me personally just how much film and storytelling can shape us over time. It was an incredible visit, and one I’ll always be grateful for. If I could just meet Tarantino, it would all be complete! A dream on the bucket list... which will one day be fulfilled 🙏 ✌️
I had a amazing time at the Sony Pictures Studios Tour and it was my first time doing this tour. Our tour guide Jackson was very charismatic, informative and answer our question. This is a must while visiting Los Angeles
Water Tower historical plaque: “This historic property has been designated a Significant Cultural Resource in 1990 by the City of Culver City. Water Tower, 10202 Washington Boulevard, Constructed 1937.” This was Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios from 1924 to 1986, where they filmed The Wizard of OZ. The Water Tower serves several purposes, including firefighting, and for filming flood scenes. The height of the tower creates high water pressure. The tank can hold up to 100,000 gallons. Historic water towers are also found at the Disney and Warner Brothers studios in Burbank, and at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, but none of them have a historical plaque. The Disney water tower is the only one with more than four legs. It has six.
I come and go to lots often and I will tell you this the way this lot is run is superior to most. The reason why… People are friendly, overall. They’re not afraid to take the time to walk with guest, offer more instruction, they’re overall the friendliest lot in the LA area.
The guided tour by Julia was fantastic! She let us know many stories about the studio, especially those of sound effects and music were very interesting. We had a great time. Thanks you!
