My daughter has been at SCLC for the last four years, first on the infant floor and then graduating to the toddler/preschool floor. I owe a lot to the caretakers and their dedication to helping the kids learn and grow. My daughter always comes home with positive things to say about her day and her teachers! Communication is great and the app they utilize is user-friendly. Also, the cost is the lowest around!
My daughter has been going to this daycare since she was two, maybe even longer. She is now six years old and loves going to Sonshine. They have always been accommodating to our schedule changes and needs. It is reasonably priced, and the kids don’t ever just sit around, they’re always doing something and learning. In the summertime they go on walks and play at the parks, which my daughter really loves. Last year we moved out of the district, but decided to keep our daughter In Kent city so she could still attend Sonshine and Kent City Schools. There’s always room for improvement anywhere, however, my recommendations and suggestions have always been welcomed by leader ship and taken into consideration. Yes, some of the staff are young and may not have the communication skills that we older folks have, but they are caring staff and in my experience With Sonshine, they learn and catch on quickly. My daughter loves all of them. ❤️
I have been bringing my kids here since the oldest was a toddler "about 4 years". They have always been very helpful and watchful of my boys. Any issues I had were always handled/ corrected as needed per discussions with staff "communication is key". They got to learn during the preschool program and make friends and were always excited to tell me of their day. I know on a daily basis my boys will be watched and loved just as if they were family to a lot of the employees. I would definitely suggest this daycare to anybody looking.
Are son has been attending for 5 years. Extremely happy with SCLC! Any issues have been resolved through open communication. He is taken care of and supervised very well. He loves the games and activities they do. Him being happy, safe and having fun has been priceless. Very thankful for the memories he will have.
We decided to take our 4 year old daughter here because of the reviews and feel from staff before we enrolled that it wasn’t just another daycare only about packing in kids for money. After 5 days there I had picked her up once and she was so thirsty her lips were sticking together. Picked her up today and she had an accident and no one even cared. They literally had to put her coat on and walk her up stairs when we picked her up and never noticed or said anything to us. The staff seemed very awkward and rude ( the blonde girl is very rude) the short amount of time you dealt with them during pickup and drop off. Overall I think they are just understaffed for the amount of kids they have regardless what the numbers the state say is ok. I would suggest saving your money on this one and look for a more personal touch daycare. Also keep in mind the 5 star review from Andrew funk should not be on here as he is the one that runs the place of course his kids are taken care of like family. Also I know at least one of the other 5 star review is from an old employee when she worked there.
