Son Shine Preschool & Daycare Center

My 4 year old son has been going to school here for about 3 months. He lives here in Hawaii with my mother and I live in California as I am finishing school. So being that he doesn’t have his mother on a daily basis and lives with his grandmother for most of the year he was a little shy at first. ALL of the teachers and the education director have done just a phenomenal job in making my son feel welcome and teaching him patience, thoughtfulness and overall the fruits of the spirit. I don’t quite understand why somebody would leave such a negative review, obviously this school is not for every child but I can tell you that every child I have seen that attends including my sons classmates are all given an ample amount of love and attention. They teach our little ones about Jesus and how he is inside every single one of them and how they can spread his love in this world. I want to thank all the staff at Sonshine Preschool for preparing my little one for how to be like Jesus in this world. Mahalo.

Horrific experience. Took my son in for a tour/evaluation. They turned us away because he wouldn't sit still for his absolute first 45 minutes of school ever. Educational director made sure to let me know just how disapproving she was of the fact that my son did not learn their schedule in 45 minutes even though they were aware that, as a just-turned-3 year old, he had not been to school before. For anyone with a child who likes to explore his surroundings and may, God forbid, take more than 45 minutes to learn an all-day schedule, I would not reccomend this school at all. The educational director has no patience for any toddler who does not enjoy sitting still for several minutes at a time. Extremely judgemental staff. Do yourself a favor and check out other schools before this one. Wouldn't even reccomend as a last resort
