Smart Steps Children Center @ Loyola

I do not recommend to send your child here. The staff is on here giving this place good reviews as i see . My son has had mold in his cup and they also lost my sons fitted sheet without me knowing and I found out weeks later that he has been sleeping on a cot with no fitted sheet. The staff has their kids there as well . Must be attentive to their own children only because its a shame i had to go through this. One of the staff got loud with me saying she doesn’t know where his sheet is and he is not in her class . But my son also had mold in his cup so everyone just walks past my son moldy cup without cleaning it is terrible. I do not recommend what so ever , the staff is terrible and day care is a mess . They had to get a deep cleaning a week ago because clearly the staff doesn’t clean. The staff bring their kids to daycare sick and foot and mouth disease went around twice since my son started late August 2025 . Not to mention my son came home with different diapers . The list goes on . They never replaced my son cup or fitted sheet . If you care about your child and their wellbeing do not send them here . I had to take my son out of day care because of the staff being very neglectful . They staff take care of their own children and not yours.

We were recently contracted to deep clean the facilities. All the staff including Ms. Kyrie who was our contact person were friendly and welcoming. The toys and books look engaging, classrooms/ lavatories are bright and clean. If I still had a little one I would definately send him here. It was a great experience working with the staff.

My daughter has been with Smart Steps for the entire school year and continued through their summer cam. I truly can’t say enough good things about our experience. From day one, she felt welcomed, safe, and excited to go to school. She’s made wonderful friends and has formed such strong bonds with her teachers, who have all been incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely invested in her growth. The staff at Smart Steps are always professional, friendly, and communicative, which has given me peace of mind as a parent. I’ve seen such a positive change in her confidence, independence, and learning since she started here. Whether it’s fun activities, creative learning, or just the love and attention she gets daily, this program has truly exceeded my expectations. Smart Steps has been a blessing to our family, and I’m so grateful for the safe, caring, and encouraging environment they’ve created. I recommend them to any parent looking for a place where their child can learn, grow, and feel genuinely. Also they do take vouchers (childcare scholarships) to help with cost of care, which is beyond a blessing.

My daughter has been attending Smart Steps for the past three months, and the experience has truly been a blessing. In this short time, I’ve watched her grow socially and academically. She interacts confidently with other children, and her communication and learning skills have noticeably improved. The staff creates a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to thrive. I’m grateful for the care and attention they provide each day. It’s clear that Smart Steps is more than just a program it’s a foundation for growth, learning, and development. I highly recommend it to any parent seeking quality care.Ms.Janiya has been amazing she has almost fully potty trained my daughter , she buys her classroom snacks , cups etc. to ensure they all get the same experience; she goes above and beyond. I am grateful ❤️

Smart Step summer camp in Baltimore was an amazing experience for my son, who is in the 4–7 age group. Over the six weeks, he grew more confident, made new friends, and looked forward to each day. The staff were warm, attentive, and created a safe environment filled with fun and learning. One of his favorite parts was water play — it kept him active and happy during the hot summer days. Every week brought new adventures that helped him build social skills and independence. I appreciated the thoughtful structure and communication from the camp. We truly saw growth in him. I highly recommend Smart Step to any parent looking for a nurturing and enriching summer program.
