Smart Start

We went to the infant daycare and received very high quality care of our baby. Early care class 2 addressed day to day conditions with us actively via app and messages, and they executed anything we told them for specific care. Communications are great and they truly care for babies and children. The classroom also implements tons of toys and activities for infants to learn and exercise. Experience is so great and we truly appreciate the care we have received, definitely will recommend to people looking for daycare services.

My son attended Smart Start for a year, and it was wonderful! He enjoyed every moment and the communication was spot on with staff. They have wonderful classrooms and well thought out play areas outside. I got an email each day with what snack was and how things for day had gone. Pick up was also simple and easy. There is plenty of parking and the parking lot isnt congested at all. The doors also have a key pad that made me feel much more comfortable in the terms of safety. My son has aged out of smart start and I wish we could keep attending, but I will 100% suggest this for any families that I know.

My daughter has attended Smart Start since she was an infant. She has received amazing care and her excitement to go every morning speaks for itself. It’s a beautiful facility, great security measures and a very caring/attentive staff. I love receiving updates from their app throughout the day to see what fun and creative things my child is learning. 10/10 recommend!

@Annan Gibson I am so surprised to hear of any issues at Smart Start. My son was cared for here from infancy and we adored the staff. While yes, there is an unsightly property next door, it seems to be out of Smart Start’s control and I’ve heard that the town has an active court case demanding that the owner clean it up. We also thought that the post and beam structure was modern and, given that it is brand new construction from the floor up, it’s in nicer shape than some local public schools. The heated floors are really nice all winter and they keep rooms cool in the summer- all of our child’s classrooms had carpets or foam on top of the concrete so it was great for playing and for the littles close to the floor. We also really appreciated that all of the staff were so caring and took the extra time to send personalized updates in a user-friendly app. It made the transition from being home with a baby to working mom more tolerable. We also loved all of the outdoor play space, from the swing sets to the walking paths. It’s so much nicer than being in the city! I’m also surprised to hear your concern about violations and licensing - where did you find that information? Everything that I’ve seen on the NYS OCFS website is showing that most inspections have no citations, but for the ones that I noticed, they’re really basic things like making sure the teachers’ bags aren’t accessible to the kids and updating labels on bottles- but everything has been corrected. Even the surprise inspections show no issues. I did a search of other daycare centers in the area to see what is “normal” and the local Montessori daycare has significantly worse citations that are noted to have unresolved violations for things like children being unsupervised. Yikes! Overall we have had nothing but positive experiences with Smart Start and I’ve recommended the program to family and friends alike.

I looked at this daycare for my child. They have a beautiful new building with all kinds of rooms, etc. Very impressed! The director/ owner was very kind and welcoming. Had this place been a lot closer to me, I would have sent my child here. Surprised by the mean review by the other person below :/
