You will not regret making Small Steps, a part of your village.
Small Steps has been nothing short of amazing. It’s the only daycare I’ve been in that has all of the calm vibes from the moment you enter to when you leave. The teachers and director have always been incredibly clear in their communication, they use an all that lets you know about you letting/eating, etc (at the infant academy) and their attention to detail is great. I have never been concerned about dropping my baby/toddler off at Small Steps and it truly feels like they are being taken care of by family. Even the infants have learning or music themes throughout the week. One of the highlights is also that the staff seems to be close friends like family with each other. You can tell they work as a team, and that the owner Ms Taren cares for them and has created a positive work environment. This is a fantastic daycare, and we would recommend it to all of my friends and family. Extra big thanks to Miss Gayle who always goes above and beyond in caring for our little one.
This is the best daycare in the Roanoke/Salem area and I do not say that lightly. My children used to go to a very fancy overpriced daycare in South County and we were frustrated with constantly rotating staff. I picked a child up to discover his teacher never came back from lunch. I never once worried about something like that at Small Steps. The staff love your children like they are their own. The administration staff and teachers want to partner with you to educate your child. The staff get to know you. They never just blanket call you Mom or Dad, they know you by name. There is a discount for paying an entire month of tuition up front or multiple payment options. The communication to parents is superior and the environment is always clean and inviting.
We have had our infant here and cannot recommend Small Steps enough. We have utilized other daycare facilities in the Roanoke Valley and the whole vibe of Small Steps is just DIFFERENT. Taren, the Director, promotes an attitude of customer service. This kindness, generosity, and positive attitude permeates to staff and everyone we have interacted with. They go above and beyond to make you and your child feel comfortable and cared for. With our little ones being so precious, it's so good to know that everyone cares and loves for your child. I highly recommend taking a tour to see how perfect this place really is :)
Absolutely positively the best staff and daycare ever. You will never find a better daycare. Do you want to feel safe dropping your kids off while you go to work, well here not only will you feel safe but you will feel like you left them with family, because the staff will become family. I can't said enough good about this daycare
