What Parents Say
Small Steps Academy receives consistently high praise from parents who describe it as a caring, Christian-centered facility where children thrive academically and socially. Parents highlight the small size, strong staff-to-child ratios, attentive teachers, and supportive director as key strengths that make it feel like a second home for their children.
Smalls Steps has been nothing short of amazing for our son. He has been attending since he was a little over 1yr old and he is now 3. Each class has helped our son grow and learn along the way. He was diagnosed with a speech delay, and if it weren't for a wonderful teacher in the Two's class, we wouldn't have known. We were able to get our son the help he needed quickly and the teachers worked with him to progress his speech. Today, he is flourishing because of them. The school is structured, yet allows our kids to still be kids. The staff are wonderful, caring, and compassionate. The director is approachable and knowledgeable about resources and I have witnessed her on many occasions in the classrooms helping where she is needed. We cannot thank Small Steps enough for the love they have shown our son, and we are looking forward to our daughter starting there in August. Thank you Small Steps! 🙏🏼🤍🫶🏼
We absolutely love Small Steps! Both of our children have been attending for the past year and they always look forward to going every day. As a former staff member with experience at other daycares, I can truly see the difference in the atmosphere here compared to others. The smaller size, quality of care, potty training regiment, excellent child-to-staff ratios, close knit staff and the genuine care shown by the entire team make this place so special. Most importantly, we appreciate that God is at the heart of everything they do. Even after our children move on, my husband and I will continue to support and pray for the wonderful mission of Small Steps.
This was our first time putting our son in daycare and we were very nervous at first but everyone at Small Steps has made us feel extremely comfortable from the very first encounter of touring the school to now almost the end of our first year. Our son has progressed so much socially and has learned so much. He looks forward to daycare everyday and is excited to share with us the things he learns. He became very comfortable there very quickly because every single staff member is involved, extremely friendly, kind and makes learning fun. We couldn’t recommend Small Steps more and look forward to the rest of our time there.
This school is great up until about age 3. If you want your kid to learn to color that’s about the extent they will get. My child was there from the time he was 4 months old. Unfortunately a child with an older brother caused issues. I was told that my son said things because the other child reported it. This was through his older brother to the parents to the school. Obviously this is an issue because there are multiple hands at play. This school is incapable of handling growing children. They are pure and simply baby sitters. I would recommend trusting your children with somewhere else as this “school” is incapable of developing and is simply suitable as a baby sitters. The entire team is sweet however there is little education amongst the group. Emily is useless and politics are absolutely at play. I would be highly cautious trusting your children with them as they will learn nothing. For somebody who was trusted to help develop my child (and compensated more than fairly) I am sorely disappointed. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Preferably somewhere that will help your little angel grow and develop vs stifling them.
My child attended Small Steps for 2 years and I have absolutely nothing poor to say about the facility or staff, and have such great memories to treasure. They are all so kind and loving! It's so wonderful knowing my child enjoys his days and friends he's made there. I highly recommend for anyone in question.
