My girls have been at Skipwith Academy in Colonial Heights for about 3½ years now, and honestly, they’ve seen me and my kids in every single form. Through it all, even on their own bad days, they still show up with a smile, and that alone says so much. They love all the kids in a way that shows, and you can feel it the moment you walk in. They celebrate the good stuff with you, they fight with you through the bad, and they always make sure the children are happy, safe, and cared for and that to me is priceless. Ms. Kay and Ms. Kita have built something special there with their leadership, kindness, and understanding. They set the tone for the whole place. I wish I had the perfect words to thank everyone, but I just hope they know how much they all mean to my family. They’ll always have a place in our hearts.
This amazing group of women started watching my daughter at just 8 weeks old (now 2.5 yo). I am beyond grateful to have found them. The love, care and respect for the children and their parents is incredible. They are creative, and innovative especially during times of duress ( AC unit out, power out, trees down.. you name it). She is progressing beyond what any of us had imagined and a good part of that is because of Skipwith and their staff.
My son has been attending Skipwith since late May. We've had a very good experience with him transitioning. We've seen so much growth and development with his language and motor skills and he seems to be very happy there. The staff is very friendly and they keep us updated of any incidents and any events that take place. I also love that they use an app to update us throughout the day so I know when he's had food (and how much of it), taken a nap, and what activities. The tuition is reasonably priced as well. I would recommend Skipwith to anyone looking for a school in the area.
The staff is so friendly and welcoming! They give me a genuine feeling of trust right away. It's such an awesome feeling to drop off my toddler and go to work all day with no worries! My daughter has learned so much at Skipwith and she absolutely LOVES it! They also have an app that allows me to see what she's doing throughout the day. I'm so glad we chose Skipwith as our child's "second home." Happy baby! Happy family!
Skipwith Academy is a very loving and caring environment for all ages of children. The director and assistant director are very hands on in the classrooms and passionate about their job. It always smell like good cooking going on When you enter the building.
