What Parents Say
Simons Recreation Center is a well-maintained community facility offering diverse recreational activities including ice skating, basketball, fitness classes, and youth programs. Parents praise the friendly, caring staff and affordable pricing. However, it is a recreation center rather than a dedicated daycare, and does not specialize in serving children with special needs.
I feel so grateful we have this fantastic community resource. Besides other offerings, if you are interested in ice skating this facility is one of only a few run by the city. And is a great place to practice and learn because it's much more affordable than other ice rinks. The ice rink is tucked away in the back of the building and is open most days of the week but is also open Sundays when the rest of the facility is closed but you have to walk around the building outside to a door that isn't very well marked but you can read if you look closely.
I was there to see my grandson do the ice skating program, a 5 yo. At the rink, it's cold, so wear a sweatshirt. People are friendly. Parking is okay. Fun place to go.
I grew up in West Oak Lane, & Simons Community Recreational Center was a haven for children in the neighborhood to come for different community activities. I played many games on the basketball courts, & on the field.. It’s upsetting to see that it’s not as popular as it was back then in the day. The for the current youth of the neighborhood don’t have many places like that for them to go. That has to change.
Great Place!! I love the fitness group they have on Mondays..
I taken my daughter ice skating for her birthday. Everyone had a great time! Staff was very friendly
