What Parents Say
Shooting Stars Learning Center receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from parents, with most praising the caring staff, educational environment, and strong director leadership. Parents consistently report their children thrive socially and developmentally at this facility. One negative review from 2016-2017 cited poor communication and unprofessional handling of a school closure.
My son has been going there since he was about 3 months old and he’s now 2 and it has been the best experience. Prices are fair, breakfast & lunch are provided, and my son loves them—especially the owner & her daughter. I do wish the hours were extended a little later in the afternoon (they close at 4:30pm) but given staffing issues, they can’t. Great records as far as inspections too!
Shooting Stars has been the greatest. My youngest have gone there for the last 2 years and we have had nothing but the best experience. All of the teachers are so nice and helpful. The director is great - will do anything in the world for you. She is straight and to the point when an issue arises, and adheres to all the regulations for a daycare facility. My oldest son also went there13 years ago when he was in daycare, and we loved them as much then as now. We are so sad to leave, but my little's are starting kindergarten this year. All of the staff have become family to us.
We’ve been attending Shooting Stars for pre-k (preschool) and daycare for nearly 5 years. My daughter has picked up so many social skills, not only in speaking words, but sign language and general comprehension. She loves to paint and comes home with the coolest art projects. Hands down the best center in Sanford, it’s clean, well-staffed with educated, friendly teachers (not babysitters.) Shooting Stars has been around for well over a decade, with many great teachers. One of the only 5 star rated centers in the area, the kids seem to all enjoy their learning time with Lori and the teachers
I love this daycare. When looking for care due to finding work and wanting my oldest to be more social with other kids. First meeting the director and then getting to know the staff. I am forever grateful that we found them. They have helped my oldest who is such an introvert and not a huge talker. He has come wayyyyyy out of his shell and loves to go to see his “ladies”. My oldest thinks of everyone there as family. My youngest started closer to 4-5 months old due to their classroom at the time being full. I am so glad when he got in because I knew his needs would be met and boy was I right. My favorite thing besides them working on his developmental needs is that when a “first” happens there such as crawling or walking. The infant teacher did not tell me and let us experience his “first”. I know this seems like a small thing but like every parent you NEVER want to miss the “first” and they have always allowed me to experience those special moments. I love this facility and how they love each child that enters their building.
My daughter attended the Pre-K program 2016-2017. We came from a half day preschool program, and had experience with how preschool worked. The teachers here were awesome, but the director Lori was not. She was rarely in the office, but when she was she never greeted the children or parents. There was never any communication with her at all. A little over half way into the school year we received a letter that all students could no longer attend due to the school shutting down, and needed to find another school for our children to attend. It was a two day notice that the teachers had to approach. She never said a word to anyone about it, and would not come into the establishment at all! It was unprofessional and it was no surprise at all that she opened back up despite rumors flying that she would not. The school the students transferred to was awesome, so I was grateful after the fact that it happened. If this is your only choice of preschools I feel sorry for you.
