We have been on the wait list for this daycare since about May 2015. Our little one was due to arrive in November 2015. Then in October 2015 we were told there might be a spot opening up in May 2016. Then in April 2016 we were told there was one more family ahead of us that might take the May spot. If they do then the next spot would be opening up in July 2016. In April 2016 we took a tour of the center, met with teachers and had a meeting with the director. We were informed that the other family would take the spot and the next available spot is in July for us. Months go by and after inquiring yet again about the spot, we received a reply in August 2016 that there is still no spot available for our child. Earlier this week (April 2017) we sent another email inquiring about the spot we thought was open for us in July, as we were told there was only one family ahead of us, and the director of the center let us know that there was never a spot promised to us and definitely not a full time spot for our child. Now that our child is almost 18 months old we would have to wait for an open spot for a completely different room. We kindly asked to be removed from the wait list as we have found a daycare for our child where the center staff is compassionate and actually cares about their children and don't pick and choose children as they please, and lie to their patrons. Long story short, don't hold your breath trying to get a spot at Shining Stars Daycare. I would highly recommend contacting the staff at the Gingerbread House. Everyone that works there is amazing and they were voted best daycare in Syracuse.

I have only had positive experiences with this facility. It is a very nurturing environment. The staff is warm and friendly and it is well run by the director. In addition, there are fun and varied activities for the children as they get older. I would highly recommend the East Syracuse location.

Shining stars is an amazing facility and I have no regrets about where I chose to have my child cared for. 10/10 recommend
