Shepherd of the Coast is a Church where you feel at home on your first visit. (I experienced this when I first visited 8 yrs ago.) The members genuinely enjoy each other and happily welcome visitors. Pastor Chad leads us with interesting and inspiring sermons each week and encourages us to share the peace and hope of Christ with everyone. Lutherans have a long tradition of standing up for their neighbors, and our congregation proudly carries on that tradition and supports each other and our community with many activities. Come join us and see all the ways we are expanding our ministry, including with lots of improvements to our Church campus!
Shepherd of the Coast School is a lovely hidden gem! It's a small, focused learning environment where students don't get lost in the shuffle and receive a solid, Christ based education. The staff is very accessible and responsive to the students needs and overall experience. I had never experienced educators pulling out all the stops to keep my daughter challenged and give her far reaching opportunities like they do at this school. My daughter flourished here. They are also wonderfully supportive when it comes to stepping into high school. They are well connected to the community and the other private schools in the area which opened up high school options for my daughter that I didn't know existed. Don't sleep on this one!
My dad once found a CRACK PIPE on the school porch. It must’ve came from a homeless man‼️ I’ve seen so many GIANT dead roaches ona floor! It feels like a daycare for middle schoolers and they hate any type of self individuality. My friend and I took algebra 1 last year and they had NOBODY to teach us. We had to learn it ourselves with online videos. They have ZERO security and this school does NOT prepare you for high school at all.
The teachers are not only knowledgeable and dedicated, but they also genuinely care about each child’s academic and spiritual growth. The pastor is inspiring and approachable, and plays an active role in creating a warm, faith-centered community. The small class sizes allow for individualized attention, and the school environment feels incredibly safe and supportive. It truly feels like a family here.
I recommend Shepherd of the Coast Lutheran Church and School to everyone who wants a safe, nurturing environment for their children. Our daughter had the best experience there and I credit Ms. Laura for being the most amazing VPK4 teacher that gave our daughter, Ava, a great 1st year of school which instilled a love of learning she still has at age 12. Ava is now proudly playing the drums for the Praise Service there on occasional Sundays taking turns with her father. We love our SOTC community and invite anyone to come and check it out. You will not be disappointed!
