I recently attended a funeral and I had my nonverbal autistic grandson with me. My daughter was approached very rudely by a usher about her baby making too much noise while the choir was singing and he was singing along. I will not isolate my grandson for anyone’s comfort and since “anyone is welcome at church” I’d suggest that you educate your clergy and First Lady about how to interact and approach autistic children. Especially since more children are being diagnosed these days.
