What Parents Say
SETA Sharon Neese Early Learning Center receives mixed reviews with significant concerns about communication, staff professionalism, and educational quality. While one parent praised it as a good kindergarten prep, the majority of reviews highlight poor parent communication, disorganization, unprofessional staff conduct, and lack of academic instruction. Multiple locations show consistent issues with administrative responsiveness and waitlist management.
I’ve spoken with 2 different people from freedom park location and one person told me that I had to wait a week for her to figure out if my child was able to move up on waitlist then the other lady told me that it was a slim chance for my son to get enrolled with them because he wasn’t doing a homebase program which no one has ever told me about. It’s been on the waitlist for over 2 1/2 years. I wouldn’t recommend this location for anyone they just give you nothing but the runaround and no straight or direct information for your child. Horrible communication and lack of communication skills and misleading information.
My friends kid goes to Seavey circle location and i recently contacted by and staff member about her personal with her ex-boyfriend. It is very unprofessional to contact an person who is allowed to pick a child up from the school and tell them that you will contact the police if the show up the school. And to talk about people's kids. I feel you guys need to train your staff members to keep their personal life and problems separate from their work. And learn to show respect for the parents and children.
My 2 kids go to the sharon neese site. I love the coordinator, Jessica, shes awsome and stays on top of everything. But since they opened in person i feel like us parents are left in the dark. I dont know what my kids classroom looks like, i dont know what they eat from week to week, and i feel they could make more of an effort when it comes to the little promotions to kindergarten. Other head start (rio linda) sites are having pics with caps and gowns and little awards.
My daughter attends the head start in the south area and it sucks if it wasn’t in the middle of the school year and close to school being out I would move her. She is going to kindergarten and she doesn’t recognize her ABCs at all maybe one or two letters but that’s it. I addressed it to the site supervisor and she basically told me that it’s not really in there lesson plan to teach them their ABCs. I felt like that was a slap in the face as a parent because we aren’t notify the criteria has changed and what we should work on at home. ZERO communication with learning. I ask my daughter what did you learn today everyday and she tells me we sing and play. So I’m really confused of what HEAD START is focusing on singing and dancing or education? I would not recommend any kid to go here.
Very unorganized program. I was told to apply online, which I did. I was notified immediately via email that I would be contacted within a week, fast forward to over a month later... nothing. I called SETA several times and get transferred over to an answering machine. Left several messages and still nothing. Very disappointing I must say.
