What Parents Say
The reviews provided do not contain substantive feedback about the daycare center itself. Most reviewers appear to be commenting on the residential apartment complex rather than the early learning center, discussing the housing community, amenities, and safety features.
Lets get real. Its the projects. Use to be called new helvetia. Its rough waking up to bricks and living here, but you make it what you can to live and survive. You appreciate what you can about it. You adjust. Its Nice location though next to river and cemetery, southside park. voted one of the safer projects in u.s. Free zip car for community parked here. But shra needs do better here. Bad side of it.... Residents turn on you not the best atmosphere but if keep to yourself you won't have a problem. Huge apts inside very roomy, no carpets, central heat and air. Hopefull you wont move next to one of the loud music neighbors here. And cars will park on your lawn after hours. Or a unit by the large trash containers where lazy persons often dont throw thier Garbage in the cans and the bags pile up animals get into them. Teens throw trash bags everywhere. Mold has been a big problem in many units. The residents protest about any upgrades to buildings or renovations offered by rad so dates to try renovate are pushed back to 2030. Dios rios has renovated to mirasol village and marina vista will be renovated n 2023. so dont expect any renovations ever for alder grove as they protest it and rather continue live here in low standard apts smoking weed and playing loud music, breaking windows and moving in whoever they want. There is a teen who shoots a gun off by basketball court all summer. A young girl walks around calling names at adults, Saw young kid chasing another kid with a big knife, a Guy in back hung himself this month. Some realities of living here. People nextdoor broke my window, i had pay for it .They just love it here they said lol. So Enter here at your own risk. Hopefully you will get a peaceful unit. The trees are beautiful in-between it all. This environment not good for teens at all and you will risk them growing up as learned criminals.
These residential apartment complexes were very bad in the past years very dangerous but throughout the years they have grown to be some nice place to live they've done they got rid of us most of the riffraff and starting to clean up the place they placed police security cameras posted in various spaces to deter some of the traffic and watch out for crimes overall it's a very nice place to live your seeking low income housing contact HUD housing development or SHRA for more details.
Shootings very often even with shot spotters at target down the street. They don't fix anything. one time the maintenance man showed me how to fix something on my own said he can tell it will go out soon and when it does he doesn't know how long it will take for someone to come back and fix it. Flat rent is 1400/Month decent for the area but high for the projects.
Very quiet!! Reminds me of the magnolia projects in New Orleans except NO drama lol. A year or so ago the security were flying drones around the apartments to monitor activity which there wasn't any. Gave them a low rating because of security
I enjoy the area. Its really close to downtown, 2 blocks from southside park and target, and easy access to public transportation. I love how we have central heat and air. The only things i don't like is the bathroom is really small, there is absolutely no counter space in the kitchen, only a few cabinets, no vent over the stoves so i have to open windows and doors while im cooking, the closets are tiny and no carpet. Other than that im comfortable. It would be nice if we had private patios ( and believe me, theres enough space for it) , but i absolutely love how we have a front and back door.
