This place is HORRID!!!!! All staff does is watch cameras and invade privacy. There’s NO help. They save their budget for their pay checks and bonuses. Not helping families. Or children. The staff will bring food from the food bank- to put in their own cars and continue to feed the people living here expired food. You’d think people that took a job at a shelter - to help people down and out on their luck would have a little care and compassion- but they don’t. They literally wake up, clock in, and come make the people in the shelters lives more difficult. There’s no assistance. No kindness. Just nasty attitudes, rude staff. If you need to go to a shelter and CES says SERVE beg and plead to go anywhere else. They will push you to West Virginia to get a section 8 voucher, so the funds they should be using to house and help people can pad their pay checks. Disgusting establishment. The county should be ashamed that they’re a part of this.
Thus place is HORRIBLE they give us expired FOOD AND DRINKS they DO NOT car about us they take all of the good snacks for thereself rooms are dirty, they have old lady's poop all over the women's bathroom, can't leave for a second without them saying children need to be with their adult when there in the SAME building the workers are rude and don't care bout NOBODY. ESPECIALLY GENISIS AND MS CHAROLETTE. they don't help at all when there supposed to help they just expect you to do everything by yourself!!! Do not come to this shelter
REAL DEAL. I was in the NVFS program for 24 months and they made sure I had a smooth transition to my voucher program. I feel really lucky that they took me under their wing and everything is moving forward.. again, still work on my end but I’m happy that they held my hand each step of the way!
Pulling up to this place, it appears clean and organized. But once you go inside, those who really need help won't get it here, they turned away a friend who really needed help. Very upsetting that one needs to know how to play their game to get help, you don't qualify because you really need it and qualify for it. Who knows how these people get in... bc clearly one of the ladies staying there had money for cigarettes... Very disappointed.
The food bank part might be fine but the shelter part they don't care about anyone they kicked me and my 5 year old twins out along with a bunch of other people called the police on me for no reason and had me trespassed
