What Parents Say
Scripps Ranch Swim & Racquet Club is a private membership facility with generally positive reviews praising its amenities, community atmosphere, and programs. Parents appreciate the summer camps, swim lessons, fitness classes, and well-maintained facilities. However, one parent had a negative experience with swim team instruction quality and staff behavior.
We’ve been members for a couple years now and find it well worth the cost (and waitlist) as a family of 5. The kids love the summer camps and mini golf, the fitness classes are great and accessible, the pool is wonderful at both locations.
I am a contractor with Fit X Fitness at Scripps and I have to say that this place is amazing! I have been teaching here for over a year and subbed classes before that. I have made so many friends, many I would consider family at this point, and I know I'll meet many more as long as I am here. The management, staff, and instructors alway strive to promote that feeling and it shows... Most members have been there for 25+ years! When I come here I feel like it is for fun, not work. It is cleaned daily and if there are any issues they are handled appropriately. I highly recommend this place.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I have two children that are enrolled in the non-competitive swim team and the experience has been horrendous. The instructor for children is Kristen. She is short tempered and does not pay attention to your child. This “ swim team” is nothing more than free swim with an “ instructor “ that has no ability to give any child proper instructions. This facility should be reported. It is not safe and definitely should not be labeled as any type of swim team. STAY AWAY!!
I was a member with my parents growing up and came back as an adult for holiday break . Nothing has changed still obnoxiously rude desk clerks ( old Vons locations ) to the point we would fo at night to avoid the lady and then found the other with shorter hair even more rude. After talking to many members kids and young adults like myself go at night to avoid the older members who “clearly, get annoyed by kids and younger crowd” . A man who works there in the evening ( short latin employee) when I was practicing yoga came up to me and said, Hurry up Blondie we’re closing” I was speechless ! I can’t believe the way this place is run. NO WAY WORTH THE MONEY. They better get it together, UPDATE THEIR EMPLOYEES AND FACILITY ! go to Fitness Quest 10 and join Lifetime in LaJolla or Poway pool this place is a nightmare. ( My parents have lived in SR 38 years and stopped going because everyone was rude kept the membership for us kids. CANCELING if they haven’t already- they don’t even greet you with a smile let alone a nice Hello - bad vibe. AVOID !
PICKLEBALL on Wednesday is for members only. I asked the lady how much was the membership and she said “you can’t just become a member there is a 4 year waiting list” Save your time don’t come here
