My daughter attended her from about 2 to almost 5 years old. Outside of the tough separation issues while dropping off she enjoyed it there and learned alot about sharing, being kind and respectful to others. I think she learned pretty well there as she was one of the most accomplished kids that graduated her kidlndergarden class from what her kindergarten teacher has said many times throughout this past school year. We would love to come back for a quick little visit to see the staff that helped her grow so much.
Pros: what made me want to enroll my child in this facility was how nice it was. Your child will have fun they do super cute projects and art work. They sometimes send you pictures through out the day. It easy to communicate to staff throughout the day. Always had a clean and dry diaper. They also have fun theme days and holiday events. Cons: The 3 hour nap time my child was sent HOME yes your reading correctly for not being able to take a nap. I tried to get in touch with the owner about this situation but the first time they failed to reach out to me. They are under staff 80% of the time and if your child does not comply you will be getting a message, over having the slightest cough or any sign of sickness so i hope your job is flexible enough for you to come and get your child. There wasn't one month were I didn't have to go an get them. The lady at the front desk attitude is unprofessional especially if you are receiving any government assistance you will feel like they are looking down at you. The teachers are all glorified babysitters which they say they have child education experience but you will see shortly how that shows up. I do feel like the staff does care for the children but you can tell they dont want to be there. I mean only $12 an hour I can understand. But i cannot justify paying $300 plus a week yes a week to be biting on my nails to see if my child will be sent home today or not. It was torture everyday. It wasn't until I changed daycares that I see how much of a difference in my child behavior. They are no longer crying at drop off and are excited to go to daycare. I really wish I could've found this other place first rather than the facility. Good Luck
I don’t recommend any black families to this daycare. I don’t even need to explain. My daughter comes home with a rash every week. Clothes always soiled. It’s like they don’t change my daughter. Then her snacks run out quick and her diapers. They sent my baby home with a dirty diaper (pooped) that seemed to be on her for hours. My baby gets sent with 10-15 diapers a week. There is no reason why my daughter coming home like that. Reporting to Dhs and I’ll never recommend yall to anyone!
I've had the chance to put my daughter in three excellent daycares. Scribbles and Giggles is the best yet. It's sometimes scary being a parent, but they have excellent security measures in place to keep the kids safe. It's also worrisome to think that your kid will not get enough energy or creativity out (leaving you to pay the price after a long day of work), but there is so much intellectual, creative, and physical stimulation for the kids. These are crazy times where divisiveness is around every corner, surrounding every issue, but my white daughter gets to spend time with people who don't look like her and gets to understand just from being around children of other ethnicities that diversity is an incredible thing. It's tough sending your child off to learn from other people when you don't know those other people or what will be taught, but my kiddo has only seemed to have ever picked up one bad habit from S&G––she came home saying "Go Green!" We were able to correct course and she now sings "Hail to the Victors" and says "Go Blue," so crisis averted. Other than that, she's only ever brought good things home (including telling mom and dad not to use "potty words"). My overall point: Scribbles & Giggles is great. Whatever legitimate concerns you have as a parent, the people at S&G should be able to assuage them. If you're thinking about what daycare in Lansing, MI is right for you, look more into Scribbles & Giggles. I'll wager you'll love it.
S&G cared for our little one for a few months but in that short time they became family. Our baby made great developmental strides while in their care and I always felt confident that she was in great hands. We will miss S&G and can't recommend them more!
