School Days

The Preschool’s marketing and reviews initially seemed very promising, but our experience was disappointing. Communication with Ms. Maria, the director, was often difficult, and it was challenging to address concerns about my child’s wellbeing. It became clear that Ms. Maria’s tone felt more financially driven than relational or child-focused. My child was first enrolled for extended hours, but the one-hour nap time rarely happened as scheduled. My child was a good napper on non-school days, so the lack of rest often left her less content at the end of the day, and we switched to the 9–3 program. After making that change, interactions with Ms. Maria became more tense, and we began receiving comments over small matters. For example, when I arrived at 3:02 p.m., she reminded me twice that pickup was at 3:00 p.m., in a stricter and unfriendly tone, even though other parents were still arriving. Classroom practices also lacked transparency. Children received lollipops as behavior rewards and watched TV shows, neither of which were mentioned before enrollment. When I requested that my child not receive lollipops, Ms. Maria’s response and tone suggested it would still be given, so we agreed to have it placed in the bag instead. Photo updates, which were said to be shared twice weekly, became inconsistent and eventually stopped for nearly two weeks. Over a two-month period, my child’s appetite decreased, and her weight percentile dropped from the 50th to the 15th, which concerned us and led to our decision to withdraw her to focus on her recovery. When we informed Ms. Maria about our withdrawal, her tone abruptly shifted and felt noticeably cold and unfriendly. Even after giving a one-month notice, we were told that the prepaid month’s tuition would be kept “for breaking the contract.” While policies can vary, the communication around this felt abrupt and not very understanding. Overall, I hope the management can improve transparency, friendliness, and the focus on children’s wellbeing. Every child is different, and a preschool caring for young children benefits greatly from warm, open, and two-way communication.

School Days is not just a preschool, it is a community of caring, loving, nurturing and dedicated teachers. Miss Maria and her staff are invested in each child’s individual learning needs, while fostering academic and social emotional growth. We are grateful for and have been impressed with the open communication, educational, social, and community building opportunities that are offered to all families at School Days. Our daughter loves going to school & asks if she can go on weekends, she has formed so many new friendships, and her love of learning has continued to exponentially grow since beginning the school year at School Days. It’s hard to come by individuals who genuinely care for your child in the same way you do as a parent and with confidence, I can say that the teachers at School Days, are those individuals. From the moment we set foot in the school for drop off each morning, to the moment we pick up at the end of the day, our daughter is safe, happy, learning, and loved.

School Days Preschool has been a wonderful experience for our child. The teachers are nurturing and passionate, creating a warm and engaging learning environment. The curriculum is creative and interactive, fostering a love for learning in young minds. Communication with parents is excellent, making us feel like valued members of the community. I highly recommend School Days Preschool for a quality early education experience.

We absolutely love School Days! My daughter has had such a great experience here over the last couple of years. Coming from a traditional daycare center and transitioning to a school that really cares about each child’s personal development was so refreshing. Plus, we have never experienced teacher turnover like we did at the centers. The teachers and staff are amazing and do so much for the kids. I always recommend School Days to any parent who is looking for a new school for their child.

There are not enough words to describe how great School Days is! The staff are all so loving and nurturing. The amount of dedication they put into every child and making them feel safe and at home is unbelievable. My daughter had a difficult transition as she was always home with me but she has grown to love going to school now. We are prepping for summer camp and for our final year at School Days before heading to kindergarten. They do an amazing job at preparing them for kindergarten with their activities as well as play time. Miss Maria and her team are amazing!
