Having our wedding at the Schlitz was a dream! It rained on our wedding day, so we moved our ceremony from the pavilion to the veranda and still had a stunning ceremony and photos. The staff, including Bridget and MaryBeth, were so responsive and organized. The coordination at our rehearsal and wedding day was seamless. The venue was stunning, and everyone commented on how unique and fun the owls at cocktail hour were. Schlitz stuck with us from the moment we toured it. We're so glad we booked it and had the wedding of our dreams: cozy, welcoming, nature-filled, and so fun!

Really nice spot to relax and enjoy nature. The trails are easy to walk and take you through woods, near the lake, and some really peaceful spots. The Observation Tower is a MUST - amazing view of the trees and Lake Michigan from up there. Great place to take a walk, spot some birds, or just unwind for a while.

Always a great place to hike, in any weather. It's especially peaceful during the day in fall and winter. 1/18/26: stopped in for the raptor ambassador talk which included eastern screech owl Gimli, and barred owl Perseus. Wow! The volunteer Q&A was informative. These are regular programs and definitely something to consider, especially if you bring youngsters.

A wonderful place to visit for hiking. It was great seeing the Lake Michigan shoreline in a more natural setting.

Amazing field trip going snowshoeing, it was so interesting to learn about the nature here! Definitely recommend if you are into nature!
