I've had the pleasure of co-leading a service activity at Elim Lutheran Church for two years during its day of service in September. The pastors and church members were so welcoming and enthusiastic about the project we did: cutting donated jeans into pieces that will be made into shoes for children with jiggers living in Uganda, Africa. We also made health care kits that will be distributed with the shoes. Elim also offers a Green Grocery Share program to help those who are struggling to make ends meet. Each week, they provide $25 worth of coupons to use on whatever produce, meat, or other items they want at the Scandia Farmers Market. For those who are experiencing financial challenges, this is such a valuable program. Elim Lutheran Church is an asset to Scandia and the surrounding communities!
