I am a former resident at this shelter, and I feel it’s important to share my experience for anyone new coming into the building. There is a housing supervisor, Ms. Richards, whose communication style toward residents is often dismissive and disrespectful. Many women in the shelter feel belittled or spoken down to, which creates an uncomfortable and discouraging environment. Several residents are hesitant to raise concerns because they fear retaliation or that it could negatively affect their housing situation. There also appears to be a lack of clear communication and accountability. Residents report receiving inconsistent or incorrect information, and many feel their concerns are not taken seriously or addressed in a timely or respectful manner. Some staff members even seem uncomfortable interacting with her due to her attitude. Overall, the environment does not feel supportive or resident-focused, which is especially concerning in a setting meant to help people secure stable housing and move forward. I hope management takes resident feedback seriously and works toward improving professionalism, communication, and accountability within leadership. Residents deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and transparency.

The housing specialist did an amazing job. I have a emergency which requires me to be housed immediately for the sake of reunification with my 5&4 year old. But other than that staff are nasty , they hold your packages and only give you what they want. I just ordered a bin to put my stuff and they didn't give it to me. Now I gotta speak to the director of its stolen I want $20 back immediately.

For the people writing one star reviews. You really can’t be picky while homeless .complaining its like a jail cell is better than being out on the streets. Homeless people wonder why they’re in the situations they’re in. They want luxury housing for free. GET REAL. Of course there will be roaches. Homeless shelters house THOUSANDS of ACTUAL homeless people a year. Get real and catch a grip.

Do not ever RISK bringing yourself or your children to this place under no circumstances, seek other resources and take your children where it’s safe instead of putting up with childish people. This is not a location for families, it’s For adults who like a lot of noise, needs a place to sleep and wash. The lights don’t work. Security is slick and the food taste stale. Very low quality, if I didn’t have to give a star I wouldn’t. This place gives LOW everything. Good luck all!
