What Parents Say
Santa Clara Parents Nursery School is a highly-rated play-based preschool with strong parent involvement. Parents consistently praise the affordable tuition, spacious outdoor facilities, caring teachers, and supportive community atmosphere. Multiple families report recovering from negative daycare experiences and feeling confident in the school's quality and child-led educational philosophy.
First, amazingly affordable tuition price. Second, Free trial days available to see for yourself. This preschool is EVERYTHING we needed after a previously negative experience at another one. It is play based and fun. The teachers are kind, patient, and knowledgeable. They seem to have an endless trove of creative activities, multiple options set up every day. They do a group snack time where the kids learn to serve themselves. They help with potty training. My son LOVES the sand pit, mud station, pretend room, and all his new friends. It was intimidating for me to join a new group of families, but everyone has been so friendly and helpful. I feel comfortable and supported as a Mom, and I love being able to spend time with ALL the kids here, a bonus I didn't anticipate enjoying so much. Parent participation is a huge and important part of the experience, and it worked out awesome for us. I wanted to share my experience and encourage you to check it out because the more friends the merrier! :)
This school is seriously THE BEST! After losing trust in daycares because of a really bad experience, Santa Clara Parents Nursery School was the light at the end of the tunnel for our family. From the moment we stepped into the yard for the open house, it just felt right. Our daughter ran straight to the train play structure and then we couldn’t get her to leave the pretend room at the end of the tour. My husband was very apprehensive because of the level of commitment needed while we both work full time (many of the families do), but we fortunately were able to make it work and never looked back. It was 100% worth it. We always knew we could trust our daughter with the teachers and parent caregivers every day. The teachers were transparent, empathetic, and most importantly communicative. My daughter only went here for 1 year but ONLY because we moved. If we stayed in the area we would’ve bypassed TK and sent her here another year. However thanks to them, we were able to feel more comfortable sending her to one of our neighborhood schools in SoCal and knew exactly what to look for in a school. We are truly grateful having spent the year here.
We love so much this school. Our kid is very active so she is enjoying the outdoors, but also the activities that the teachers prepare every day. The most important thing that we found in this school is trust. We really trust the teachers and the families that participate in the school. We share the same education philosophy and I found lots of support from other moms, fathers and grandparents that work in the school.
My son has been attending this school for a little over a year and I am so happy that we picked the school. Well, HE actually picked it. I was really stressed out trying to find an affordable but QUALITY pre-school that was near me that offered enough hours, and as as last effort I decided to tour this pre school before making a decision. Once we stepped in, I noticed how spacious and welcoming the space was. My son instantly warmed up to the space and I could tell he felt like home. So yes, I always "joke" about how HE picked the school. The community: The parents were so welcoming and it really has "takes a village" mentality. I also love the co-op structure because it really challenges you as a parents to be really involved with your child, and all the parents knowing the quirks of all the other children? Well that is quite the bonus! Teachers: I can't say enough about the teachers. They strongly believe in the child-led, play-based philosophy. Being able to witness my own child learn empathy and thoughtful decision making right in front of me is quite something. I have to hand it to the teachers for this one. If you are looking for an affordable but quality community for your child where parents are challenged into being good role models, you should consider this school.
My 3 year old son has been attending SCPNS for one year and it's been an amazing experience for both of us. What really caught my eye about this school is the very large outdoor space which the kids can freely be out in with a high adult to child ratio. The outdoor space includes a large sand box, bikes and a bike path, sensory bins, a mud kitchen, a play structure, a tire swing, a large play train, and lots of plants to explore. There is also plenty to do indoors/under cover if they prefer including an art project set up in the art room, lots of books, playdough made weekly, paint easel set up, a pretend room with lots of dress up, wooden montesorri toys, train sets, and a light table. And a major bonus in this school being a parent participation school is the low child to adult ratio at 5:1 and the teachers do not count in that ratio. The parent participation portion also means I'm learning from the teachers and through teacher led parent discussions how to be a better parent and deal with difficult toddler stages. The teachers are also always very thoughtful about their weekly lesson plans and encourage parents to bring books, crafts, ideas, or songs to share. I just can't recommend this school enough, it's amazing!
