I can't say enough good things about CAC! The people that work there are wonderful and you can tell they genuinely care and want to help you. People have to understand that they are human and I'm sure they get overwhelmed at times with all the people they help. In my opinion they go above and beyond to help you. Yes sometimes it's hard to get through over the phone but that is understandable. If you have to go into the office do it don't complain, you should be grateful. They have helped me in so many ways, I got a brand new air conditioner, I got a brand new freezer, they've helped me with rent and utilities and not only that they are helping me get my car fixed that has been broke down for 6 months. Now I call that wonderful service! CAC has impacted my life in such a positive way I don't know what I would have done without them! So thank you CAC for all the hard work you do for us here in Erie county you do make a difference and I am forever grateful!!😁

Things might move a little slowly and they might be a little difficult to get a hold of when you’re a brand new client, but they are an absolute godsend and save so many families from trouble and heartache with the programs that they offer. The gentleman that I have dealt with is very helpful and humanitarian. If you’re brand new, there’s a system that you have to be aware of. It’s easier to pick up paper forms and drop them off in person in their dropbox. If you call and cannot get a human, or leave messages and nobody returned your call, it’s because you may not get very far unless you stop in person and do things the old-fashioned way on paper. If you can follow the system, you’ll get the help you need. So don’t give up or get frustrated. Just go in person and you’ll get much further.

I've left messages for two months...no call back. Called 4 times back to back today & a lady answered the phone and said I had to call another number. I asked what it was because I've called and left messages for two months. She gave me the number and when I started to say "thank you I really..." She hung up. This been going on at this office for years. It's almost as they hate working with the community and have zero desire to actually talk to anyone. It's sad, really sad if you consider the actual help people need. Really wished they'd hire more professional, compassionate workers. I could totally understand how that kind of unprofessionalism and lack of compassionate could cause someone to turn away and their family to suffer. It's one thing to ask for help, but to have to call stalk and beg......... It's almost cruel.

Really put us in a bind. Went to get some rental assistance , did everything they asked. Was told the approval was sent upstairs to submit payment at the beginning of may. Thought it was taken care of. Got our rent bill this month, not only was it not taken care of but now the funding for the assistance programs are on hold until congress is done with this debt ceiling thing. Spoke with several people at the cac all of which apologized for this happening to us and took responsibility for the fumble. But now will not return calls to try to help us with the situation(all my land lord needs is a letter of intention or even a phone call since he’s worked with cac before). I understand they are here to assist and are not required to do so. For that we are greatful to them but I wish there was a little more communication about what was going on so we wouldn’t have been blind sided by a court date and could have had time to reach out for other means of assistance.
