I always enjoy Delta. You can never feel like an outcast. It is a melting pot where most people are helpful and supportive. There are a few bad apples of course. The younger one's straight from highschool with kid mentalities. If you have disabilities there are places to aid you and lots of people willing to help. The culinary cuisine is always tempting, but unfortunately since COVID the cafeteria has been closed and it had incredible breakfast burritos and more. Now they have gas station food and the thriving Java Juice with Starbucks coffee. Classes a great, Professor's are very understanding and supportive and the clubs are incredible. Danner Hall, (The food court/rec room is awesome. Couch, chairs and a TV to hook up gaming consoles to play as well as having tournaments. They have a great Police force, excluding one who sped through a crosswalk I was about to cross. But even the groundskeepers are super nice. I easily recommend taking a class or two, or three. Lastly, as a student you have the opportunity to go once a week to the student pantry where they let you get limited food items to help during the week. Also, once a month they have a farmers market that gives out a variety of goods in the Shima 2 parking lot. Check the student pantry for more details. Delta also has 3 Theaters. And one in particular is the Alfred Muller Theater where I filmed a play for him just before he passed away. Great man. There is so much more I can say, but I recommend checking it out for yourself. All (respectful people) are welcome. In N Out is right across the street too. So... Why wait. Go get enrolled.
Parking is a bit wild, you'll always find parking at the back of the school. Use the maps posted in different areas of the school. A good school that is to the point. Some hallways and exits lead to areas you didnt think, but everything is pretty accessible.
This place is a damn maze. No signs to point you in what direction to get to your destination. Police staffs are not friendly and not helpful at all. If you're a first time student. I highly recommend you to explore the campus beforehand so you'll know which parking lot you'll be at and where your class building is located.
I've attended delta (6 months) for only 1 reason, becuase it was closer to my home, however during the time I applied to delta it was covid time. Everything was told to be done digitally. now its 2026, yet they've havn't solved my problem. They say that you can walk in on wednesdays to meet with a counselor but when I showed up they told me all appointments were books at 8:30 am and that they have walk-ins for the 2 weeks startinng next week. Fast forwarding to the week, I call the counseling department at broad daylight but no one picked up. There whole administration system sucks. I'm so glad I made the decision to transfer to a different Community college right away to complete my GE.
Today my daughter & I spoke to a few people regarding her starting on campus class. Delores in the library, Graciela in the EOPS office were super helpful. There were a few others but I didn't catch their names. I can't wait to see my daughter enjoy her college experience! Culinary here she comes!
