We have been with SMS since the start of this school year and my 3-year-old loves it. From the very beginning, she was guided with such commitment and professionalism, and this helped her settle in quickly. The staff is excellent and diligent, both teaching and non-teaching. SMS has a curriculum that is varied, creative, adaptive, and rich. The operation side is very professional, from pick-up to drop-off, parent relations, family activities - field trips and online parent education sessions are highlights. My daughter has picked up so much knowledge and new skills over the past few months, and is clearly happy there. SMS also has great facilities that are well-maintained - their outdoor space is especially wonderful for development. The students get to engage in gardening and a variety of outdoor play. All in all, all good things and I really can't think of anything bad to say!
My son attended Sammamish Montessori School for 3 years and was a part of the 2025 Kindergarten graduating class. The school is special because of the teachers. Many of the teachers have been at the school for decades with their ex-students in college. The teachers provide a very safe, warm and loving environment for the children to explore, play and learn. I am amazed at how well the teachers manage to get the children to do their tasks, especially the youngers ones who are not used to the rhythm of the school. Kalai and Jabeen bought the school about 2 years ago. Jabeen spent the first year (before any official announcement) in different roles including being a classroom teacher to my then three-year old. They have put their heart and soul into the school. They are there every day in the front greeting the children, teachers and parents coming in and are very involved in the school. They are always available to answer any questions or concerns. They have also made substantial improvements in the curriculum as well as facilities like new playgrounds, additional fencing and other capital improvements. They have also added new events, increased field trips and now offer a wide variety of after-school care and steam-focused curriculum. My son really enjoyed learning Mandarin and Spanish at SMS and has taught some to me too! He was also offered multiple opportunities for sharing his interests in different forums like science fair, stage performances etc. SMS was a very welcoming and safe place for my son to spend 3 years. My son has grown from a toddler to a first grader and really flourished there. Thank you for a great experience!
Sammamish Montessori school is one of the best run programs in schools that I have ever seen. My kid is in the STEAM program and they absolutely love it! The teachers are extremely kind and knowledgeable and there's a lot of consistency year to year and who the teachers are which is super important. Highly recommend the school if you are looking for something that is both academic and social emotional.
My son has been attending this school for the past two years, and we’ve had a wonderful experience. The staff is extremely proactive when it comes to children’s safety, which I truly appreciate. Recently, the school added a new synthetic-turf play area. I raised concerns about the possibility of PFAS (“forever chemicals”) in synthetic turf, and the school immediately took my concerns seriously. The school director, Mr. Kalai, personally partnered with me to look into the matter. We contacted the installation company to review the testing they had already completed. Even though their reports showed no PFAS, the school went a step further and arranged an additional independent lab test locally. That test also came back negative, and the lead test results were negative as well. I’m grateful that the school listened, investigated thoroughly, and never dismissed the concern. Their responsiveness and commitment to safety make me feel confident that my child is in the right place.
We’ve had a wonderful experience with this school. The teachers are not only knowledgeable but also genuinely caring and dedicated to each child’s growth — both academically and personally. The facilities are modern, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed to support a variety of learning styles and extracurricular interests. The curriculum strikes a great balance between academic rigor and creativity, helping students build strong foundational skills while also encouraging critical thinking, collaboration, and curiosity. It’s a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to thrive, feel confident, and develop a lifelong love for learning.
