Sambica is a one of a kind place. One minute you’re getting blasted with water riding on the banana boat, then you’re dancing and listening to funny skits, and then the next moment you’re in a deep conversation with people who care so much. I’m so grateful for how this camp has impacted me!
While this camp may be fun, there is no quality or safety concern. My daughter got a severe rash after attending this camp. They don’t have the kids shower after leaving the lake. No warning signs or concern about quality of lake water or to avoid if sensitive skin. I called to voice my concern as a physician and they said I only notified them of her allergies, not her eczema on the intake form. Blamed me for her acute change after attending their camp. Attend with caution!
My son attended Sambica for the first time last summer and it was a highlight of the year! The staff is incredible and so intentional with the kids. He felt safe, loved, and well fed plus his spiritual development was really significant. We’ve already signed up for next summer.
What a special place fostering love, acceptance and belonging. We feel so thankful for the GIFT of SAMBICA. After six years of summer camp at SAMBICA my kids still cannot get enough and keep asking for more. We love you Camp Sambica!!!
SAMBICA is a very special place! Two of my kids have been campers there for the past two summers (elementary and jr. high age). They both had so much fun as well as meaningful moments in their faith. My oldest child has been a summer staffer there as well, and I can affirm that the staff culture is healthy, dynamic, and mature (while being a lot of fun!). The counselors are excellent at meeting kids where they are, developing relationships, and having fun in the context of loving Jesus and seeking his call on our lives. I’m grateful for this wonderful place and see it figuring into our summer plans for many years.
