Salvation Army Red Shield Corps Comm

I want to take a moment to recognize Doretta Tootle, the Social Service Coordinator at the Salvation Army Denver Red Shield Community Center. She has gone above and beyond for me in more ways than one. From the very first time we spoke, she made me feel heard, respected, and supported. Doretta is not only professional but also compassionate, patient, and dedicated to truly helping people. She doesn’t just point you in the right direction—she walks alongside you to make sure you have the tools, resources, and encouragement you need to move forward. Her kindness, knowledge, and genuine care make a huge difference in the community and in the lives of everyone she serves. I am deeply grateful for everything Doretta has done for me. The Red Shield Center is blessed to have her, and I can honestly say she has been a light in my life when I needed it most

The Salvation Army camp was incredible. They got to know my daughter over the weeks she was with them, and they were so attentive to her needs. She was happy to go to camp every day, and when I picked her up, she didn’t want to leave. They have friendly staff and engaging activities for the kids. I loved that at the end of camp, each kid received a certificate for being an outstanding camper in some form or fashion, highlighting that each kid had something to bring to the table. I was very blessed as a mother to know my daughter was in such good hands.

My son absolutely loved summer Camp. Ms. Ashley who runs the program was communicating very well, made accommodations for my son for his tutor to come in and work with him, and was very understanding. She helps the younger kids to express themselves to her when something happens. Ms. Ashley is very wonderful, and I love how she supports the families in any kind of way possible. She’s very positive and adores kids very much and to make sure no kid is left behind in anything do inside of camp such as activities, prizes, and field trips they go on, and etc. She’s super passionate about the children and goes above and beyond for her families.

Dorreta Tootle was contacted because we knew of a few families needed help during g the holidays and she was able to contact each of those families arrange for them to have food boxes delivered to their home. She definitely went above and beyond.And she's so appreciated thank you Dorreta!!

Amazing experience with this summer camp. My son would cry. He did not want to leave at the end of the camp day at 5:30. Ashley is absolutely amazing and we will be definitely doing this again next summer.
