What Parents Say
NOTE: The reviews provided are for AdviniaCare (a skilled nursing/rehabilitation facility), not Salmon Centers for Early Education (a daycare). Based on the reviews submitted, AdviniaCare receives overwhelmingly positive feedback with all 5-star ratings praising compassionate staff, clean facilities, engaging activities, and attentive care for patients and residents.
My father in law was recently there and we found the facility exceptionally clean and the staff friendly, attentive and very professional. They took extra time and patience with his care as he can be difficult. I would highly recommend this facility- our family was impressed and if needed he would return.
I am submitting this review on behalf of Mark Ouellette who's Brother James Ouellette was at Advina care for a month before passing on December 1st. Mark was impressed with the facility and staff who provided Jim with an abundance of care and compassion. While No one wants to be in a position to have to go to rehab, Adviniacare is a fantastic facility with compassionate friendly staff.
If I could give less of a rating I would. My sister was here for 9 days. She was sent here to get stronger after a 2.5 day stay at a hospital. In this 9 days she saw a Dr once. She did not have a shower and could not shower alone. She asked, at least 5 family members asked for her to have one. She was not washed at all. She did not have her teeth brushed, or the proper supplies brought to her so that she could attempt herself. PT/OT was sporadic and group. My sisters condition worsened each day. There was no notes of concern here. Possibly because the Dr was seen once. On the 9th day WE called for an ambulance to take her back to the hospital at 8pm. From Milford she was transferred to Worcester where she passed away 18 days later. The lack of cleanliness of this facility, and not helping their patients to feel clean and with some dignity while in their care is deplorable. This facility should be shut down.
My mother was a resident at AdviniaCare and I couldn’t be happier with the wonderful job they did during her stay. The staff does a fantastic job keeping the residents engaged with activities. I commend the admissions team, they have answered all my questions and concerns with her stay even taking time to check in with my weekly. I truly appreciate everything AdviniaCare has done for my mom and recommend this place to any loved ones.
I'm giving this place 2 stars because there are maybe 5 people who work here who actually care. The rest treat the patients like a commodity or an inconvenience. I've heard activity workers threaten dementia patients. I've seen nurses leave patients sitting on the floor after they fell. My father was in this facility for a year and 4 months. Had he lived at home like he wanted, he would have passed away sooner. So this place did improve his QOL temporarily, but when he was in UMASS for 2 weeks after having a stroke, he was finally able to return to Advinia and the room as dirty with the same trash and crumbs and old food that had been in the room when he left 2 weeks earlier. The night he passed, the was staff more concerned with me cleaning his belongings out of the room in case they needed it for someone else. This place is better than leaving your loved one in an empty house, but please do your research before committing anyone here.
