“Unfortunately, our experience with this ymca has been very frustrating. For over two months, we have been trying to register our children for swimming lessons, but no one has contacted us. We reached out to the manager who gave us the email of the person in charge. We sent an email, left a voicemail, and even left a note at the reception, yet we received no response. When we called the manager again, he just said the person is busy. Customer service is very poor, and there seems to be no care for new members. We hope they improve communication and responsiveness.”
I think that this overall is a very good gym and that there's a lot to do with the community.
I enjoy working out the equipment is very easy-to-use. I like playing with my sons in the game room. I enjoy swimming in the warm pool, it helps with my arthritis. I enjoyed the private swimming lessons that you gave. It's a great environment all around.
If you are a serious lifter, unfortunately this YMCA is not for you, and it's a shame. This place has everything lifting wise for you to achieve any goal that you have. It says in the contract that you sign when you join, that you're not supposed to loiter on lifting stations and playing with your cell phone, but its not at all a rule that's enforced. I can't speak for planet fitness because I've never been to one, but as far as gyms go this, YMCA is the worst I've ever seen for people sitting on mechines playing with their cell phones. Also, it's the worst gym that I've ever seen in reference to people not racking weights, much less not racking them properly. Such a shame and such a waist.
We are enjoying the teachers, the director, the comfort level they’re instilling in the students, the cleanliness of the facilities, and *definitely* the fact that the students can play/practice in the family pool before and after class (with lifeguards on duty!), plus open swim times during the week! We’ve loved swim teachers elsewhere too, but our child’s wasn’t getting to practice any time other than in class. That’s a huge difference between the Y and other swim lesson locations. We love that our child’s swim/pool time is not limited to only a 30-minute lesson. Two thumbs up!
