We attended Saint John’s for the first time last week and truly loved it. The church is beautiful, and the Mass was reverent and uplifting. We were very much looking forward to celebrating Christmas Eve here. We arrived about 30 minutes early, fully expecting a large turnout, but were surprised to find that there were no seats available. What was most difficult was seeing multiple pews reserved by individual attendees for large groups (six or more), which appeared to be happening in both worship spaces. We completely understand saving a seat or two for close family members, especially on a holy day, but the extent of the seat saving made it impossible for many who arrived early to find a place. My fiancée had taken time off work so we could attend Christmas Eve Mass together, and unfortunately we had to return home and watch online instead. It was a disappointing experience, particularly because we had otherwise felt so welcomed by the parish. We share this only as constructive feedback, as we truly love the church and hope it might be helpful for future high-attendance instances. We look forward to returning and continuing to worship at Saint John’s.

Deacon Dennis at St. John Catholic Church is truly a gift to the community. I had the pleasure of attending his pre-baptism class, and I was genuinely moved by his talk. His depth of knowledge, clear love for the sacrament, and deep understanding of the faith were inspiring. He brings a gentle sense of light-hearted humor that makes the class both engaging and meaningful. I’m not a perfect Catholic—I try to go to church when I can—but this class reminded me how much I still have to learn about my faith. Deacon Dennis has a way of making you feel welcome, no matter where you are on your spiritual journey. I left the session feeling spiritually enriched and motivated to grow closer to God. This church has been my place of worship since my relocation here in February of 2014. I find the ambiance and the sermons to be quite edifying. While I have not yet been able to attend the Spanish mass due to scheduling conflicts, I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to do so in the near future. The warmth and kindness of the congregation are truly heartwarming. If you are seeking a spiritual home, I highly recommend this church.
