What Parents Say
Rising Star Scholars Academy is a Black-owned performing arts dance studio in Houston that receives overwhelmingly positive feedback. Parents praise the caring director Ms. D, affordable pricing, quality instruction, and positive impact on children. One parent reported a concerning incident involving communication and child supervision.
I would give no stars but I had to select one to inform the community. The owner Ms. D does not know how to contact a parent if there is concerns with her and a dancer. She sent my daughter out in the cold after my daughter told her we wasn’t outside. Then later told her to come back inside and stand by the door until we come. I guess she realizes that was evil of her to do a child like that. I’m hurt and upset at this choice she decided to make in response of her saying my daughter had an attitude coming in . And grilling her why was she late. I drive her there and I pay for her session any questions should have been towards me!!
LOVEEEEEE that this is a dance studio for an underserved community. Denisea is such a hard working yet caring director. I haven’t met anyone that never had good things to say about the studio, nor the people in it. Technique, HBCU opportunities, all forms of dance and performing arts, and even travel opportunities have come from this studio. It’s such a blessing to see it flourish and grow all the way from 2014.
My daughters love coming here after school. Keeps them out of trouble and Ms. D is so loving and caring. Love the fact she takes time out with them and talk to them. Means so much for this generation
My daughter just started and is already showing her dance moves. You guys are amazing and affordable. Thank you for providing my daughter with a positive experience.
Blessyn my 4 year old granddaughter just joined and feels so welcome and special as she tells me. Thank you Ms. D for brining her out of her shy comfort zone.
